Kleinanzeigen Fees for Private Sellers
Listing is free up to a point, protected payment is paid by the buyer, and the limits matter more than the fees.

- Private listings on Kleinanzeigen are free up to 100 ads in 30 days; each additional ad costs €1.99 including VAT.
- Vehicle listings: 2 free ads per 30 days for cars under €30,000; €9.99 for each ad beyond that or for vehicles priced €30,000+.
- Sicher bezahlen adds €0.50 + 4.5% to the buyer's total — sellers pay nothing, but it only works for shipments within Germany.
- You may have at most one private and one commercial account; commercial fees depend on the category, so check Kleinanzeigen's own commercial price list.
Kleinanzeigen is Germany's largest classifieds platform, and for private sellers it's largely free. You pay nothing for your first 100 ads in a 30-day window, and consumer goods ads can be extended indefinitely for free. The costs only kick in when you post more than the limit, list vehicles, or use the optional paid buyer-protection service.
This page covers the exact fee amounts, the listing caps, who pays for Sicher bezahlen, and the account rules. All figures come from Kleinanzeigen help pages checked on 13 September 2026. For a full margin calculation that includes your buy price, cleaning, packaging, and shipping, see the resale profit guide.
Fees at a glance
Listing limits and the extra ad fee
Kleinanzeigen charges nothing for private listings up to 100 ads in any 30-day period. Each ad beyond that limit costs €1.99 including VAT. This applies to consumer goods, services, and job listings.
The window is rolling, not calendar-based: Kleinanzeigen counts the ads you placed in the last 30 days. If you have already placed 100 free ads in that window, the next one costs €1.99; a free slot opens again as older ads fall out of the 30-day window.
Important detail: ads in consumer goods, services, and jobs can be extended for free, unlimited times. The extension itself is free — you only pay if you create a new ad beyond the 100-limit.
- Track your ad count in a spreadsheet if you post frequently
- Let existing ads auto-renew instead of deleting and relisting (extensions are free)
- Plan bigger batches of ads around the rolling 30-day window, not the calendar month
Cars: the separate rule
Vehicle listings follow different rules:
- 2 free ads per 30 days if the vehicle is priced under €30,000
- €9.99 per ad from the 3rd ad in 30 days, or for any vehicle priced €30,000 or more
- Renewal (re-publishing the same vehicle) also costs €9.99

Sicher bezahlen: what the buyer pays
Sicher bezahlen ("secure payment") is Kleinanzeigen's optional buyer-protection service. Here's what it costs:
| Who pays | Amount |
|---|---|
| Buyer | €0.50 + 4.5% of the item price |
| Seller | Free |
The buyer pays the fee directly. As a seller, you receive the full listed amount — no platform fee is deducted from your payout.
Scope and limitations:
- Available only for shipments within Germany
- Covers the transaction only when payment flows through Kleinanzeigen's protected system
- PayPal payments made outside the protected flow are not covered by buyer protection
- The payment processor is named inconsistently across help pages (Adyen vs. "Online Payment Platform"); this detail doesn't affect the fee amount
Worked example: A buyer purchases an item for €50 using Sicher bezahlen. Their total is €50 + €0.50 + (4.5% × €50) = €50 + €0.50 + €2.25 = €52.75. You receive the full €50 as the seller.
What the fees mean for your price
When a buyer uses Sicher bezahlen, their total is higher than your listing price. This affects how you price items:
- Listing price €50 + Sicher bezahlen = buyer pays €52.75
- As the seller, you receive €50 (no platform fee)
If you offer shipping, the buyer typically pays for shipping separately — the ad states who pays shipping costs. Kleinanzeigen does not have a platform-default rule here; it's set per ad. If you're comparing German platforms end to end, the Germany reselling guide covers Kleinanzeigen alongside eBay.de and Vinted DE.

Account rules: private vs. commercial
Kleinanzeigen allows one private account and one commercial account per user — maximum 2 accounts total. The two account types have different fee structures:
- Private account: free up to 100 ads per 30 days, then €1.99 per extra ad
- Commercial account: category-dependent listing fees; see Kleinanzeigen's commercial price list
Whether you need a commercial account depends on your volume and whether you're selling as a business. This is a legal and tax question — platform fees and account type are separate from your tax obligations.
Comparing German marketplaces
Kleinanzeigen's model differs from other German platforms:
| Feature | Kleinanzeigen | eBay.de | Vinted DE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private seller listing fee | Free up to 100 per 30 days | Free (EEA delivery) | Free |
| Buyer protection fee | €0.50 + 4.5% | None stated | Included |
| Shipping | Buyer pays (ad states) | Seller chooses | Buyer pays, plus Buyer Protection fee |
For a full side-by-side breakdown, see Kleinanzeigen vs Vinted, and for fee math across platforms, try the marketplace fee calculator.
The €0.50 + 4.5% Sicher bezahlen rate is specific to Kleinanzeigen in Germany — it doesn't transfer to other countries. If you also sell elsewhere, compare it with eBay fees in Germany or, for cross-border sellers, Wallapop fees in Spain.
