Parcel Lockers for Sellers: Drop-Off Done Right

Measure, label, drop off and never miss a returned parcel, with the rules each carrier and marketplace actually publishes.

Key takeaways
  • Measure the packed parcel, not just the item, before you accept an order — Orlen Paczka's size classes run S 8×38×60 cm, M 19×38×60 cm and L 41×38×60 cm, up to 20 kg.
  • A printed label and a drop-off code cost the same on Orlen Paczka, with one exception: Orlen Paczka's own FAQ says Vinted parcels cannot be sent with a code, only a label.
  • Pickup windows for a returned OLX parcel differ by carrier: InPost 48h, Orlen Paczka 72h, Poczta Polska 7 days, per OLX's own help page.
  • Orlen Paczka separately gives 3 business days to collect any parcel, counted from the first SMS or e-mail with the pickup code — a different clock from OLX's return-specific windows.
  • An oversized parcel still has to leave within the marketplace's own shipping deadline — on Vinted that's 5 business days before the order is cancelled automatically, oversized or not.

Dropping off a marketplace sale at a parcel locker goes wrong in the same few ways every time: the parcel doesn't fit the size the buyer chose, you're not sure whether a label or a code will work, or a returned parcel sits uncollected past its window. This page covers the locker step itself — size, label or code, what to do when it doesn't fit, and how long you have to collect a return — for sellers in Poland on Vinted, OLX and Allegro Lokalnie. It doesn't rank carriers against each other; that comparison is in InPost vs Orlen Paczka. For the wider picture of running reseller stock and shipping, see the inventory management guide.

How locker drop-off works for a marketplace sale

The buyer picks the carrier and locker size at checkout, not you — your job starts once the order is confirmed.

From sold item to dropped-off parcel
  1. 1Measure the packed parcelBefore you accept, not after
  2. 2Check the size the buyer choseShown in the order details
  3. 3Print the label, or use a codeWhere the marketplace allows a code
  4. 4Drop off and photograph the confirmationClosed locker door or receipt screen
  5. 5Keep the confirmation until the order completesIn case a return or claim follows

Skipping the first two steps is where most locker problems start: a parcel that looked fine on the table turns out to exceed the size the buyer already paid for.

Size classes: measure before you accept the order

Orlen Paczka's own page publishes three size classes for its lockers: S at 8×38×60 cm, M at 19×38×60 cm, and L at 41×38×60 cm, with a 20 kg weight limit across the range. Drop-off is available at a locker, at an ORLEN station, or at a partner point.

InPost lockers take three sizes: A (8×38×64 cm), B (19×38×64 cm) and C (41×38×64 cm), each up to 25 kg. The size options for whichever locker network the buyer picked are shown in the app when they choose shipping at checkout; check there rather than assuming Orlen Paczka's classes apply everywhere.

Label or code: what each marketplace gives you

Orlen Paczka's FAQ states that a parcel can be sent using either a printed label or a drop-off code (kod nadania), and that both cost the same. There's one documented exception: the same FAQ says directly that a Vinted parcel cannot be sent using a drop-off code — Vinted's own generated label is required. For other marketplaces, this page won't guess at a rule that isn't published; follow whatever the order screen actually offers, and treat "label only" as the safer default until you've seen a code option appear for that specific marketplace and carrier.

If you don't have a printer, that Orlen Paczka code option (where it's available) removes the need for one — the code shown on your phone at the locker screen does the job a printed label would.

When the parcel does not fit the locker

If the packed item turns out too big once you're standing at the locker, Orlen Paczka's own page lists a partner point or an ORLEN station as alternative drop-off locations, which can take parcels a locker's largest size class won't. Beyond that, this page won't invent a re-labelling fee or a size-change procedure that isn't documented — if a locker rejects your parcel and no partner point is nearby, contact the marketplace through the order itself rather than guessing at a workaround.

Whatever happens at the locker, the marketplace's own shipping deadline keeps running. On Vinted, the seller has 5 business days to ship before the order is cancelled automatically — an oversized parcel is still your problem to solve inside that window, not an excuse to let the order lapse. General shipping deadlines across marketplaces, including extension requests, are covered in marketplace shipping rules; the packing materials that help a parcel fit its size class in the first place are in shipping supplies for resellers.

Returned parcels: pickup windows you cannot miss

A return sent back to you through a locker runs on its own clock, and missing it can mean the parcel goes back to the sender or into storage fees you didn't plan for.

How long you have to collect a returned parcel
  1. InPost

48 hours, per OLX's Pakiet Ochronny deadlines

  2. Orlen Paczka

72 hours, per OLX's Pakiet Ochronny deadlines

  3. Poczta Polska

7 days, per OLX's Pakiet Ochronny deadlines

Those windows come from OLX's own help page on Pakiet Ochronny deadlines and apply to returns processed under that scheme. Orlen Paczka's FAQ separately gives a general pickup window of 3 business days from the first SMS or e-mail carrying the pickup code — that's the everyday rule for any Orlen Paczka delivery, not specific to OLX returns, so check which of the two applies before you assume a parcel will wait for you. What happens on the buyer's side of a return, and how the claim itself is decided, is covered in OLX delivery and Pakiet Ochronny; if it's your own outgoing parcel that's gone missing rather than a return, that process is in what to do if a Vinted parcel is lost.

Locker drop-off checklist

  • Measure the packed parcel against the size the buyer already chose
  • Confirm whether this marketplace and carrier accept a drop-off code, or print the label
  • Photograph the sealed parcel and the locker's drop-off confirmation
  • Note which pickup-window rule applies if this is a return, not a new sale
  • Keep the confirmation screenshot until the order fully completes

A photo of the closed door is cheap insurance if a parcel goes missing later.

A photo of the closed locker door with your parcel inside, taken right after drop-off, is the same kind of evidence that backs up a shipping deadline or a missing-parcel claim later — cheap to take, easy to forget.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if my parcel does not fit the locker?
It depends on the carrier and how far it's oversized. Orlen Paczka's own page lists a partner point or an ORLEN station as a drop-off option alongside lockers, which covers some oversized cases. For other carriers, the safest move is to contact the marketplace through the order rather than guess — re-labelling or size-change procedures aren't documented publicly, so don't assume one exists.
Can I send a Vinted parcel with a drop-off code instead of a label?
Not through Orlen Paczka. Its own FAQ states directly that Vinted parcels cannot be sent using a drop-off code (kod nadania) — you need the printed label Vinted generates. A label and a code otherwise cost the same on Orlen Paczka; the Vinted exception is specific to that one marketplace.
How long do I have to collect a returned parcel from a locker?
It depends on the carrier. OLX's help page on Pakiet Ochronny deadlines gives 48 hours for InPost, 72 hours for Orlen Paczka and 7 days for Poczta Polska. Orlen Paczka's own FAQ separately states 3 business days counted from the first SMS or e-mail with the pickup code, so check which clock applies to your situation.
Do I need a printer to send a parcel from a locker?
Not always. Orlen Paczka's FAQ says a parcel can be sent with either a printed label or a drop-off code shown on your phone, at the same price — except for Vinted, which requires the label. Other marketplaces vary; check what the order screen offers before assuming you need to print anything.
