Vinted Across Borders: Buying in One Country, Selling in Another

The mechanics and the maths of cross-border Vinted reselling.

Key takeaways
  • Vinted's Polish and German shipping-options pages say international shipping and orders from particular countries can't be switched off, so any listing can draw orders from abroad.
  • Conversion costs 1.2% or 3% of the item price depending on the currencies (Adyen), or 1.2% through Vinted Pay; no page read says which rate a złoty–euro order gets.
  • Vinted's UK Terms pay out only in your local currency within your home country, so a German sale by a Poland-registered seller ends up in złoty.
  • In this page's worked example, a jacket that leaves 17.10 zł profit on vinted.pl makes 46.90 zł sold to a German buyer after a 3% conversion allowance, and still misses a 50 zł profit floor.
  • Buying to resell is commercial activity, which Vinted doesn't allow on personal accounts, and Pro is not open in Poland or Germany: settle that before scaling any cross-border flip.

Vinted cross border arbitrage means buying on one country's Vinted, usually vinted.pl, and selling to buyers where comparable items leave the market higher. The route exists because Vinted's Polish help page on shipping options says it cannot switch off international shipping or orders from particular countries. Whether it pays comes down to three of Vinted's rules: conversion costs 1.2% or 3%, payouts arrive in your home currency, and personal accounts are not for buying to resell.

This page covers margin, not parcel forwarding. Platform facts come from Vinted's official pages, read on 13 September 2026; other numbers are examples.

How Vinted markets connect

Each country site has its own currency, buyer-fee formula and date for the new Terms. Those three differences are what a cross-border flip has to price in.

  • Different currency, extra cost. Poland to Germany is złoty to euro, so conversion enters the order. Germany to France is euro to euro.
  • Foreign orders are the default. Vinted's German shipping-options page repeats the Polish line: international shipping can't be deactivated.
  • EU routes aren't documented. The UK help page covers UK–US and UK–Australia trade (2 kg limit, value caps); we found no such page for Poland–Germany.

Every country's formula is on Vinted fees by country.

International reach and bump options

Default reach across borders isn't documented. The one paid control Vinted publishes is the Bump:

Rule Where it's stated
3 or 7 days, "or until the item sells"; one Bump per item at a time UK help 340 (durations also on PL, FR, DE price lists)
Price depends on item price, duration and reach, domestic or international PL and FR price lists
Shows the item "in your registered country"; price only at payment UK help 340; all price lists

Decision rule: if home-market comparables already clear your profit floor, skip the international Bump. Pay for reach only when the foreign gap is why you bought. Ranking and Bumps in full are in the Vinted reseller guide.

How to check whether a price gap exists between Vinted countries

Nobody publishes cross-country Vinted price data, and we haven't measured any. Test each gap yourself:

  • Same brand, model, size and condition on both sites
  • One comparison set per site, never mixed into one median
  • Last asks of comparables that disappeared recently, with dates, not live asks
  • Foreign set converted at the day's rate, with the date noted
  • Buy side: listing price plus the buyer fee and shipping shown at checkout
  • Sell side: a 3% conversion allowance until checkout shows less
  • Several comparables per side; one cheap listing is not a gap

How to find sold comps explains why cross-border listings stay out of a comp set. Tactics for finding the cheap side are in how to find underpriced items on Vinted.

Currency conversion and payout rules

Vinted's converted-currency help page, read on the Polish and UK sites, says:

  • The buyer pays in their own currency; the seller is paid in their local currency once the order completes.
  • Adyen charges 1.2% or 3% depending on the currencies: 1.2% between standard currencies (examples given: pound–dollar, pound–Australian dollar), 3% when a non-standard one is involved. The Polish page adds 1.2% through Vinted Pay.
  • An offer agreed across currencies can move with the exchange rate, so check out promptly.

Vinted's UK Terms describe the fee as "either 1.2% or 3% of the Item price". Which group złoty or euro falls into isn't stated.

Payouts, per the UK Terms, go "only… in your local currency and within your home country", and UK help 68 requires a pound account in a matching name. Payout currency, timing and withdrawal fees for Poland, France and Germany were not confirmed on official pages.

Decision rule: price a converted sale as if conversion lands on your side. If the flip only works at 1.2%, don't buy until checkout shows 1.2%.

Shipping costs and deadlines

Vinted's UK, Polish, French and German help pages all give 5 business days to ship before the order is cancelled automatically. You can ask the buyer for 3 or 5 more business days; they may refuse. Per the UK help page, the buyer pays for shipping and picks from the carriers you enabled.

Carrier line-ups, label prices and transit times between Poland and Germany aren't on the pages we read, so none appear here. In the maths, count only inbound shipping on your own purchase; the German buyer's shipping raises their total, not your cost.

Margin maths for a PL→DE flip

Where a 340 zł cross-border sale goes
Sale price after conversion to zł340 zł
  • Buy price on vinted.pl200 zł
  • Buyer fee on your purchase12.9 zł
  • Inbound shipping15 zł
  • Packaging5 zł
  • Your time, 2 h50 zł
  • Conversion allowance, 3%10.2 zł
  • Profit46.9 zł
Example numbers, not market data. Usual Polish buyer fee; conversion at the higher of Vinted's two published rates.Illustrative example, not market data

Turn it into a floor before you buy:

minimum foreign exit price (zł) = (buy price + buyer fee + inbound shipping + packaging + your time + profit floor) ÷ (1 − conversion rate)

With a 50 zł profit floor: (200 + 12.90 + 15 + 5 + 50 + 50) ÷ 0.97 = 343.20 zł. The 340 zł comparables fall just short, so you pass unless checkout shows 1.2%. The same logic across OLX, Allegro Lokalnie and eBay is in marketplace arbitrage.

Risks: returns, claims and commercial signals

Commercial signals. Vinted's UK and Polish help pages list signs of commercial activity, including low-value goods bought in bulk, many new or tagged items, and identical items in several sizes. Personal accounts may not list items intended for commercial sale, and on 13 Sept 2026 Pro was open in 8 countries, not Poland or Germany. Vinted Pro in Poland tracks the status.

Claims and returns (UK help pages; PL, FR and DE not confirmed):

  • 2 days from Vinted's delivery notice to report a problem, then the order completes
  • On an agreed return the buyer pays return postage unless you offer to
  • 5 business days for the buyer to send it back, then 2 days for you to inspect
  • The refund covers item price, Buyer Protection fee and original shipping
  • From October 2026, press reports 48 hours instead of 24 to give authenticity evidence

Decision rule: if a return from Germany would erase the gap, as it would the example's 46.90 zł, flip only items you can describe with no room for a "not as described" claim. The seller-side playbook is in Vinted returns and disputes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell to other countries on Vinted?
Orders from abroad are built in, not opt-in. Vinted's Polish and German shipping-options help pages, read 13 Sept 2026, say Vinted cannot switch off international shipping or orders from particular countries. The EU pages we read don't list which country pairs or carriers are connected. Selling abroad doesn't change the account rule: a personal account is not for items bought to resell.
How do I check whether an item is cheaper in another Vinted country?
Keep one comparison set per site. On each, note the last ask of identical items that disappeared recently, with dates, and convert the foreign set at the day's rate. Add the buyer fee and inbound shipping shown at checkout to the buy side. If the converted exit price still clears your own profit floor after a conversion allowance and your time, across several comparables, the gap is real for you.
Do I pay currency conversion on Vinted?
Only when the currencies differ. Vinted's converted-currency help page says the buyer pays in their currency and the seller is paid in theirs. Adyen charges 1.2% between standard currencies and 3% when a non-standard one is involved; the Polish page adds 1.2% through Vinted Pay. Neither says which group złoty or euro falls into, so read the conversion line at checkout.
Can I withdraw earnings to a foreign bank?
Vinted's UK Terms say payouts go only in your local currency and within your home country, and the UK help page asks for a pound account in a name matching your Balance details. Polish, French and German withdrawal rules were not confirmed on official pages, so check your country's help centre. Press also reports EU balances moving to Vinted Pay under the October 2026 Terms.
