How to Find Sold Comps When There Is No Sold Filter
What sold comps are and how to find them on Vinted, OLX and Allegro Lokalnie, and how it differs from eBay.

- A sold comp is a recent sale or market exit of an item a buyer would take instead of yours: same brand, model, size, condition and accessories, on the same country site.
- Vinted's pricing help article (checked 13 Sept 2026) points sellers to similar live listings and mentions no sold filter, and the OLX and Allegro Lokalnie pages we read describe no sold history, so you build comps by logging the last price of listings that disappear.
- Scheduled endings are not exits: OLX displays a listing for 30 days and an Allegro Lokalnie auction runs 7 days, so a listing that vanishes on schedule may simply have ended.
- Judge whether you have enough comps with a stability test: drop the highest and lowest exit in turn and compare the medians against a limit you set beforehand.
- Keep exits and live asks in separate lists: exits estimate fair value, asks show the competition you price against.

To find sold comps, collect recent sales of items a buyer would accept instead of yours (same brand, model, size and condition) and note the price each one went for. Where the official pages describe no public sold history, as with the Vinted, OLX and Allegro Lokalnie pages we read, you watch comparable listings and log the last price of the ones that disappear. The median of those exits is your estimate, and the number of close matches behind it tells you how far to trust it.
Below: how to find sold comps without a sold filter, from matching rules and marketplace evidence to asks, exits and how many is enough. The result feeds the ladder in the resale pricing guide. Marketplace facts were checked on 13 September 2026; every price is an example.
What sold comps are and what makes an item comparable
"Comps" is short for comparables. A sold comp is the price of an item that changed hands, or at least left the market, and that a buyer would have treated as a substitute for yours. A Nike Dunk Low in size 42 is not a comp for size 45. The term has a precise definition — what counts as a comparable sale — and this page works the matching rules in full.
Match attributes in this order and stop at the first failure:
| Attribute | Must match | Drop the comp if |
|---|---|---|
| Brand and model | Exactly | Only the category matches |
| Size or variant | Exactly | Size is missing from the listing |
| Condition | Same grade | Photos contradict the grade |
| Accessories | Same set: box, charger, tags, dust bag | Key parts are missing |
| Recency | Your chosen window, or time-corrected | Last season, for a seasonal item |
| Market | Same country site and currency | Cross-border listing |
Decision rule: if you have to explain why a listing "roughly" matches, it is a loose comp. Keep it in a separate column, never in the median.
Why eBay comps advice doesn't transfer
In our search research (13 September 2026, a US-located search tool, not Google), the top five results for "what are sold comps" were all about eBay, and List Perfectly's pricing page (checked 13 Sept 2026) offers an "eBay Pricing Lookup" to "lookup comps on eBay". That works where sold prices are shown. Three things stop the numbers crossing over:
- Fee display. eBay UK's help page says its Buyer Protection fee, charged on purchases from UK private sellers, is included in the displayed item price. Vinted's price lists say its buyer fee is shown at checkout (press reports it will be renamed "Vinted fee" under the October 2026 Terms).
- Seller costs. eBay UK charges UK-based private sellers no final value fee outside the Motors categories; eBay.pl charges private sellers 11% up to 9,990 zł plus a fixed per-order fee. Vinted's price lists have no seller commission line. Different costs mean different floors.
- Evidence type. An eBay sold price is a transaction. A Vinted, OLX or Allegro Lokalnie exit is a listing that disappeared, which is not proof of a sale.
Decision rule: use eBay sold prices only to check that an item has buyers, never as a zł or € price for another marketplace.
What evidence each marketplace shows
At the time of writing (September 2026), based on the official pages we read:
| Marketplace | Sold history on the pages we read | Exits that are not sales |
|---|---|---|
| Vinted | Help article 376 says to "search the catalog for similar items"; no sold filter mentioned | Deleted or relisted listings, among others |
| OLX | Terms (27 April 2026) describe listing rules; no sold history described | End of the 30-day display period (some subcategories use other periods) |
| Allegro Lokalnie | Fee and selling pages describe listing types; no sold history described | An auction ending on its 7th day |
On all three, your comps are live asks plus the last price of listings that vanish. Blogs disagree on whether Vinted has a sold filter; we did not test the app. Can you see sold prices on Vinted goes through what Vinted's help pages say about each way a listing disappears.
Two rules change how you read an OLX or Allegro Lokalnie exit:
- OLX: in free and limited categories, ending a listing and adding the same item within 14 days counts as a duplicate under the Terms. An item that returns after that gap looks new, so compare photos before logging it.
- Allegro Lokalnie: local listings (ogłoszenia lokalne) carry a 0 zł sale fee, while "Kup teraz" and auctions pay a percentage of item value (7.9% outside the Elektronika category, per Allegro's fee page). Keep the types apart: fee-paying sellers need a higher price to net the same.
Vinted's Terms say users must not "delete and re-list the same Item multiple times", yet relists happen. New Terms take effect on 5 October 2026 (Germany, France) and 8 October 2026 (UK, US, Poland). Trade news site Value Added Resource reports the relisting rules unchanged in the UK and US; that is press coverage, not Vinted's wording, so re-check after those dates.
How to find sold comps: matching brand, model, size, condition and photos
Search with brand and model in the query, set the size and condition filters, then open every result. Titles are written by sellers; photos are the evidence.
- Brand, model or line confirmed on a label or packaging photo, not only in the title
- Size, storage or variant stated and visible in a photo where possible
- Photos show no damage the condition grade hides
- A single item, not a bundle or a set with one total price
- Real photos of the item, not stock images copied from a shop
- Same listing type on Allegro Lokalnie (local vs "Kup teraz" or auction)
A comp that fails one box goes to your loose column.
Live asks vs items that left the market
Keep two lists for the same search. Exits (listings that disappeared and did not come back) estimate what buyers accept. Live asks show what a buyer can choose instead of you. Expect asks to sit higher, because overpriced listings linger while cheaper ones tend to leave first.
Example: you track a fleece jacket, size M, Very good. Five exits went at 120, 135, 140, 150 and 160 zł, so the median exit is 140 zł. Seven live asks sit at 130, 150, 165, 170, 180, 190 and 220 zł, so the median ask is 170 zł.
Decision rules:
- Fair value comes from exits only. Here, 140 zł.
- If you have many asks and almost no exits, you have competition data, not price data. Lower your confidence.
- If the median ask drops below your median exit, the market has moved since those exits. Check the cheaper asks really match, then time-correct the old exits (below) before you trust them.
How the two medians become five price levels, including the fair value × 1.25 cap, is on choosing a price level.
How many comps are enough
No Vinted, OLX, Allegro Lokalnie or eBay page we read sets a minimum number of comps, so test stability instead of chasing a count.
Example: with the five exits above, dropping 160 zł leaves a median of 137.50 zł; dropping 120 zł leaves 145 zł. One listing swings the median by 7.50 zł. If you had decided that a swing above 5% of the median (7 zł here) means "not enough", you keep collecting.
Similarity matters as much as count: adding loose matches does not tighten the range.
- Close matches, top of range
- Close matches, bottom of range
- Loose matches, top of range
- Loose matches, bottom of range
Write your thresholds down before you look, so the same evidence always gets the same verdict. Example thresholds you could adopt: a swing under 5% of the median with only exact matches is "high" confidence, under 10% is "medium", anything wider is "low".
Time-correcting older comps
Prices drift with season and trend. If you log live asks at each check, scale older exits by how the ask median has moved.
Example: six exits from June have a median of 180 zł. In June the ask median for the same search was 210 zł; today it is 189 zł. The ratio is 189 ÷ 210 = 0.9, so the corrected median is 180 × 0.9 = 162 zł.
Decision rules: correct only with the same search and match rules in both periods; with no old ask log, use recent exits only and accept lower confidence; for seasonal items, compare against the same season.
Recording comps quickly
A comp you did not write down is gone with the listing. Screenshot first, then log one row per listing with seven columns: date first seen, site and link, item and size, condition, price, match (exact, close or loose) and status (live, gone since a date, or reappeared). Example row: 2 Sept · vinted.pl · fleece jacket M · Very good, pilling shown · 140 zł · exact · gone since 9 Sept.
Check back on a fixed schedule, for example every three days, and update the status instead of adding rows. When sourcing, the same log gives you the resale estimate for evaluating a deal in 60 seconds. Vinted-specific search checks are in how to price items on Vinted.
Common comp mistakes
- Taking the median of live asks and calling it a sold price
- Counting a listing as sold the day it disappears, before checking whether it comes back
- Treating an OLX listing that vanished at 30 days, or an Allegro Lokalnie auction that simply reached its 7th day, as proof of a sale
- Mixing sizes, conditions, bundles or Allegro Lokalnie listing types into one median
- Logging the same item twice because its seller deleted and relisted it
- Pasting eBay sold prices, or another country's Vinted prices, into a zł comp set
- Keeping one outlier because it supports the price you hoped for
