AI Tools for Resellers
Where AI saves time in reselling and where it still needs a human check.

- AI in reselling tools does narrow jobs: filling listing fields from photos, suggesting a price from comparables, drafting text and removing backgrounds. Each needs a human check before a buyer sees it.
- A wrong size, colour, material or undisclosed flaw counts as significantly not as described on Vinted, whoever wrote the listing, so check every AI-filled field against the label.
- A price estimate is only as strong as its comparables: in this page's example, one extra exit moves a three-comparable median from 95 zł to 122.50 zł, but a nine-comparable median only to 97.50 zł.
- eBay's User Agreement explicitly lets sellers use generative-AI tools for listings; no AI-specific clause was found for Vinted, OLX or Allegro Lokalnie, whose normal listing rules still apply.
- In reva, Scout (photo-based condition check, price ladder) is live, Studio (recognition and price suggestion) and List (drafts) are in early access, and the condition check is not authentication.
The AI tools for resellers that earn their place today do narrow jobs: they fill in listing fields from photos, suggest a price from comparable items, draft titles and descriptions, and cut out backgrounds. None of them removes your own check, because a wrong size or a hidden flaw becomes your not-as-described claim, not the tool's. Below, AI features are sorted by task, with what vendors' own pages state (read 13 Sept 2026) and where a human still has to look.
We build reva, so its row carries a live, early access or in build label; our editorial policy covers comparisons that include it. We have not tested these tools.
What AI is good at in reselling
| Task | What the AI does | What you still check |
|---|---|---|
| Recognition | Suggests brand, model, category from photos | Care label, size tag, model code |
| Pricing | Suggests a number from comparables | Where the comparables come from, how many |
| Listing text | Drafts a title and description | Size, materials, every flaw |
| Photos | Removes or replaces the background | The marketplace's photo rules |
| Condition and fakes | Flags what deserves a closer look | Authentication is a separate service |
Decision rule: if an error lands on the buyer (wrong size, hidden damage), let AI draft and keep the final word. If an error only costs you time (a clumsy title), let it do more.
Recognising brand, model and condition
Recognition works from what the photo shows: a logo or printed label narrows the match, a plain knit with the label cut out gives it little. A miss has a price. Vinted's UK help page on significantly not as described items (checked 13 Sept 2026) counts wrong colour, incorrect size, undisclosed damage, different main materials and counterfeits as grounds for a claim. If a tool fills in "wool" and the label says acrylic, the claim is against you. Vinted's Catalogue Rules also ban unrelated brands in the brand field, title, description or hashtags.
- Compare the care label and size tag with every suggested field
- Match the model or style code, if there is one, against the suggestion
- Read the suggested condition against the flaws you can see
- If the brand was guessed from shape alone, confirm it before publishing
Price estimates and confidence
An AI price is only as good as its comparables: where they come from, whether they sold, are asking or just ended, and how many there are.
Decision rule: if a tool doesn't say how many comparables it used, or shows low confidence, treat the price as a starting point and check comparables by hand. How reva builds five levels from comparables is in choosing a price level.
As displayed on 13 Sept 2026, Crosslist's AI add-on (+$4.99 a month) includes "AI-powered pricing", SellerAider's Crosslister Pro ($29.99 a month) lists "Accurate Price Suggestions", and List Perfectly includes a "Google Lens Pricing Tool" and an eBay comps lookup. Which marketplaces feed the first two is not stated publicly, and eBay comps won't show asking prices on OLX, Allegro Lokalnie or Vinted.
Writing titles and descriptions
As displayed on 13 Sept 2026:
- Vendoo: "AI Listing Enhancement" from the Growth plan ($29.99 a month).
- List Perfectly: "AI Generated Listings", from 25 a month on Simple ($29) to 1,000+ on Pro Plus.
- Crosslist: AI add-on at 1 credit per listing, with 200 to 2,000 credits a month by plan.
- SellerAider: AI listing generation on Crosslister Standard ($12.99 a month).
- Flyp: "AI auto-fills listings", with no further detail.
eBay is the only marketplace in our research with an explicit position: its US User Agreement lets sellers use generative-AI tools to create listings and keeps them responsible for accuracy. For Vinted, OLX and Allegro Lokalnie we found no AI-specific clause, so ordinary rules apply to generated text. OLX's Terms (27 April 2026) ban contact details in listing text; Vinted's UK Terms say photos and descriptions must not be "taken from the internet". Vinted's new Terms take effect on 5 October 2026 (Germany, France) and 8 October 2026 (UK, Poland), so re-read your country's version then.
Decision rule: a generated description is ready when every fact in it is visible in your photos or on the label. Templates per marketplace are in writing listing titles and descriptions.
Photo cleanup and background removal
As displayed on 13 Sept 2026, Vendoo includes up to 300 PhotoRoom removals a month on Growth, List Perfectly from 25 a month on Simple, and Crosslist's add-on charges 2 credits to edit a photo with AI.
Vinted's Catalogue Rules say photos "cannot be replaced with stock photos, photos from ads and watermarked images". Flyp's help centre warns that a plain white replacement background "tends to trigger Vinted's 'no stock photos' auto moderation" (Flyp's claim). Vinted's commercial-selling page lists stock or professional photos among signs of commercial activity.
Decision rule: on Vinted, fix light and cropping and keep the real background; skip generated product images. What buyers need to see is in product photos that sell second-hand items.
Replica and scam detection
None of the vendors above states AI replica detection on the pages read, and reva's photo-based condition check is not an authentication service.
Vinted sells Item Verification as an optional buyer service: £10 per item in the UK and 45 zł in Poland, per its price lists. Decision rule: if a find sits far below its comparables and the photos look lifted from an ad, run the checks in spotting fake listings before you pay.
Limits and human checks
The riskiest AI is the kind that acts rather than drafts. eBay's User Agreement bans "LLM-driven bots, or any end-to-end flow that attempts to place orders without human review" without eBay's permission, and Vinted's Terms ban external software tools unless Vinted allows them.
Decision rule: keep AI on drafts and suggestions; you publish, confirm and pay. The reseller automation guide sorts what to automate and what to keep manual.
