How Much Money Can You Make on Vinted? Realistic Numbers

No screenshots of record months: the per-item maths, the hours behind each sale and the point where Vinted starts reporting your income.

Key takeaways
  • Vinted publishes no seller earnings data — treat social-media 'I made X' claims as unverifiable outliers, not an average.
  • Illustrative example: sale price 120 zł, minus a 45 zł purchase cost, 3 zł packaging and 4 zł travel to drop-off, nets about 68 zł — made-up numbers to show the method, not a platform figure.
  • DAC7 reporting starts at 30 sales or more than €2,000 a year, whichever comes first; being reported does not by itself mean tax is due.
  • Money reaches your Vinted balance within 2 days of delivery confirmation; a bank withdrawal can take up to 5 business days.
  • Standard Vinted accounts are for personal use — scaling toward a full-time income on one risks a block for commercial-looking activity.

There is no official number for how much you can make on Vinted — the platform does not publish seller earnings, so any "average" you have seen is someone's guess or a screenshot. What you can do is work out your own maths: what a typical item nets after fees and costs, how much your time is worth, and when Vinted starts reporting your sales to the tax authority. This page walks through that maths in zł, with the full Vinted reseller guide covering everything else.

Why there is no honest average

Search "how much can you make on Vinted" and you will find bloggers claiming four-figure monthly sums — an illustrative contrast: other sellers report clearing as little as 40 zł in a month. Neither is a data point: Vinted's price lists, help centre and press pages for the UK, France, Germany and Poland carry no figure for average or typical seller income. Social-media screenshots are survivorship bias — the sellers who post are the ones with a good month to show off.

Say it plainly: nobody outside Vinted knows the real average, and Vinted itself does not publish it. What follows is your own maths, not someone else's average.

The per-item maths: price, fees and your costs

On a private Vinted account you do not pay a seller commission — Vinted's Polish price list lists no commission line, only the buyer-paid fee. The buyer's charge, usually 5% + 2.90 zł, changes what the buyer pays, not what lands in your balance. See who pays which Vinted fee for the full country table.

Your own maths starts from your asking price and works down: purchase cost, packaging, and any trip to a drop-off point.

Change any of those numbers for your own item and the profit line moves with them — that is the whole method behind calculating resale profit. Vinted's updated Terms take effect in Poland on 8 October 2026, and press reports say the buyer charge is being renamed the "Vinted fee" around the same date, so re-check the price list once that lands.

Decluttering vs reselling: two different incomes

Decluttering and reselling produce different numbers because they start from a different cost. Clearing out your own wardrobe has no purchase cost, so almost anything you get is profit — but a wardrobe is finite. Reselling means buying stock with the expectation of a margin, which needs capital and a real difference between what you pay and what an item leaves the market for.

Vinted's own rules matter here too. Standard accounts are for personal use, and Vinted's help centre lists signals of commercial activity — a high number of completed orders, revenue, identical items in several sizes or colours, stock photos — as reasons a listing or account can be limited. Vinted's UK help page on account blocks names selling for commercial purposes as grounds for a temporary ban, and repeating it as grounds for a permanent one. Scaling past a few things a month on a personal account carries that risk.

Time per sale: the cost nobody counts

Money per item ignores the minutes it took to get there: photographing, writing the listing, answering messages, packing and the trip to drop off the parcel. Our rule of thumb: time ten of your own sales end to end, from the first photo to the drop-off, and divide the total time by ten — that is your real time per sale, not a guess.

Once you know your per-sale time, the waterfall above becomes a hint at the ceiling: more sales at the same margin means proportionally more of your evenings, not a bigger hourly rate.

Three illustrative scenarios, month by month

Put per-item profit and time together and a monthly figure falls out — every number below is illustrative, not a Vinted statistic.

Sixty sales a year clears the DAC7 threshold in two months at that pace — the reporting section below explains what changes when it does.

When Vinted reports your earnings: DAC7

Vinted reports a seller's totals to the tax authority once you reach at least 30 sales or more than €2,000 in a calendar year, whichever happens first, under the EU's DAC7 rules. You fill in one short form, typically your tax ID; without it, Vinted says you can no longer sell or access your Vinted balance. The report goes to the tax authority the following January.

Reporting is not the same as owing tax. Vinted's own pages say plainly that being reported does not by itself create a tax obligation — what you owe depends on your country's rules, and this is general information, not tax advice. For the Polish specifics, see DAC7 for resellers.

How to earn more without more hours

Once you have timed your own sales and know your real margin, three changes move the number without adding hours: buy with a bigger gap to the price similar items leave the market for, price to sell within days rather than wait for a top offer, and batch your photos and drop-offs instead of doing one item at a time.

Money reaches your Vinted balance within 2 days of the buyer confirming or the automatic window passing, and a bank withdrawal can take up to 5 business days — build that lag into your own cash-flow expectations, covered in getting your Vinted balance into your bank account.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an average seller make on Vinted?
Vinted publishes no figure for average seller earnings on its price lists, help pages or press site in any market we checked (UK, France, Germany, Poland). Numbers circulating on social media are self-reported and skew toward outliers, so treat any 'average' you see online as marketing, not data. What you can calculate is your own per-item margin: sale price minus fees, purchase cost, packaging and any promotion you buy.
Can Vinted be a full-time income?
Not on a standard account. Vinted's rules require standard accounts to be for personal use, and its help centre lists signals of commercial activity — a high number of orders, revenue, identical items in several sizes — as grounds for a temporary or permanent block. Vinted Pro exists for registered traders, but it is not open to businesses in Poland or Germany today. A side income around a few sales a week fits the rules; scaling to full time on a personal account does not.
How many sales before Vinted reports my earnings?
Vinted reports sellers under DAC7 once you reach at least 30 sales or more than €2,000 in a calendar year, whichever comes first. You add one detail, usually a tax ID, to a short form; without it you can no longer sell or access your Vinted balance. Being reported is not the same as owing tax: it means your totals reach the tax authority, and what you owe depends on your own country's rules.
Is reselling on Vinted more profitable than decluttering?
They are different games. Decluttering has no purchase cost, so almost anything you get for an old jacket is profit, but your wardrobe runs out. Reselling needs capital to buy stock and a real margin to be worth the time, and every zł you spend is a zł you can lose if an item does not sell. Compare the two on profit per hour, not per sale, once you count sourcing and listing time.
