How to Make Your First Sale on Vinted
A one-week plan for a brand-new account: the right first items, a price that moves, and exactly what to do when the first order comes in.

- Start with a common, mid-price item in a popular size — not your rarest or most expensive piece.
- Vinted's help page (checked 13 Sept 2026) gives sellers 5 business days to ship with the prepaid label, plus an optional extra 3 or 5 business days the buyer can refuse.
- Private sellers on vinted.pl pay no selling fee; the buyer pays the Buyer Protection fee, usually 5% + 2.90 zł.
- An order is completed either when the buyer taps 'All OK' or automatically 2 days after delivery; payment follows within 2 days of completion.
- Vinted does not publish that accounts without reviews rank or sell worse — but fast replies and honest photos still build the trust that gets an offer accepted.
- Day 1: pick items a new account can actually sell
- Day 1: profile and shipping settings
- Day 2: price the first listings to sell
- Day 2–3: photos and descriptions that get a reply
- Day 3–7: messages, offers and one price check
- After the sale: label, shipping and the buyer s 2 days
- Your first payout and first review
Your first Vinted sale usually comes from a common item priced to move, not from your best piece. This plan covers one week: what to list on day one, how to price and photograph it, how to handle messages, and exactly what happens after someone pays — shipping deadline, payout timing and your first review.

Day 1: pick items a new account can actually sell
Choose 5–10 items that are common, mid-price and in good, honest condition — a basic jacket, jeans in a popular size, a handbag, trainers in a size that sells often. Avoid listing your single most expensive or rarest item first: without reviews yet, a high-value listing draws more questions about authenticity and condition, and a slow first sale on your best piece wastes it.
- Day 1
Pick 5–10 items, set up your profile and turn on shipping options
- Day 2
Price the first listings using items that left the market
- Day 2–3
Take real photos, write honest descriptions, publish
- Day 3–7
Reply fast to messages and offers, adjust one price if needed
- End of week 1
First order arrives
Day 1: profile and shipping settings
Add a real profile photo and a short, plain bio — buyers message real people, not blank accounts. While you're in settings, turn on shipping: pick which carriers you'll offer so a buyer can check out without waiting on you. The Vinted shipping options in Poland page walks through which carriers to enable and the trade-offs between home pickup and drop-off points.
Day 2: price the first listings to sell
Price slightly below comparable listings for the same item that have already left the market — not below current asking prices, which are often too optimistic. On vinted.pl, private sellers pay no selling fee; the buyer separately pays the Buyer Protection fee, usually 5% + 2.90 zł according to Vinted's Polish price list, checked 13 Sept 2026. That fee sits on top of your price and doesn't reduce what you receive.
A fast-sell price for a first item is one you'd be happy to see paid within days, even if it's a little below what a patient seller might eventually get.
Scout, live in reva today, estimates a fair-value and fast-sell price from comparable items on Vinted, OLX and Allegro Lokalnie that left the market, with a demand score alongside it. It's an estimate, not a guarantee — useful as a starting point for your first listing, not the final word.
For the full pricing method, see how to price items on Vinted.
Day 2–3: photos and descriptions that get a reply
Use your own photos in daylight, show the item from several angles, and photograph any flaw instead of hiding it — an honest photo now avoids a dispute later. Write the description plainly: material, size, measurements, condition, and one line on why you're selling.

A copy-and-fill layout for the description is in the Vinted listing description template; the product photos that sell second-hand items guide covers lighting and angles in more detail.
Studio and List are early access in reva today: Studio suggests a price from item photos, and List drafts listings across the three marketplaces reva supports. Neither posts automatically — you review and publish yourself.
Day 3–7: messages, offers and one price check
Reply to questions within the app as soon as you can; a slow reply loses a buyer to another listing. If someone sends a lowball offer, a short counter is normal — keep the conversation inside Vinted, never over email or messaging apps, since off-app deals aren't covered by Buyer Protection. If an item gets favourites but no offers after a few days, that's a signal to check the price once, not to relist repeatedly. The what to do when nothing sells on Vinted page covers next steps if a full week passes with no interest.
After the sale: label, shipping and the buyer's 2 days
Once an order comes in, open it in the app for the prepaid label Vinted generates — you don't pay for shipping yourself. Vinted's help page (checked 13 Sept 2026) gives sellers 5 business days to use that label; miss the deadline without a tracking update and the order is cancelled automatically, which can affect your account through feedback. If you need a little more time, you can ask the buyer for an extra 3 or 5 business days, which they're free to refuse.
- Order paid
Prepaid label issued; 5 business days to ship or the order is cancelled
- Need more time?
Ask for a 3- or 5-day extension — the buyer can refuse
- Parcel delivered
Buyer has 2 days to confirm 'All OK' or raise an issue
- Order completed
Happens automatically if the buyer does nothing after 2 days
- Paid out
Vinted pays within 2 days of completion
- Review window
Leave and receive a review once the order is completed

Photograph the packed parcel, sealed and ready, before you hand it to the carrier — that photo is your evidence if the buyer later says something arrived different from how you sent it.
Your first payout and first review
An order completes one of two ways: the buyer taps "All OK", or it completes automatically 2 days after delivery if they do nothing. Once it's completed, Vinted's Polish help page (checked 14 Sept 2026) says payment reaches you within 2 days. From there you can request a withdrawal — see withdrawing your Vinted balance for how that works the first time.
Reviews follow the same completion event: Vinted's platform page notes a review window of 4 days after completion, so leave one for the buyer promptly and most buyers do the same. There's no legitimate way to speed this up beyond shipping on time and describing the item honestly.
- Ship within 5 business days of the order, sooner if you can
- Photograph the item and the sealed parcel before drop-off
- Reply to every message inside the app, never over email or SMS
- Leave the buyer a review once the order completes
One date worth noting for later sales: Vinted's updated Terms take effect 8 October 2026 in Poland, and press reports the Buyer Protection fee will be renamed — worth a quick check of the price list after that date once you're past your first sale.
