Why Your Vinted Items Aren't Selling

Diagnose the stage where buyers drop off, then fix that stage only.

A Vinted listing's buyer funnel from views to favourites to offers, with the stage where buyers drop off highlighted
Key takeaways
  • Diagnose one stage at a time: views, then favourites, then offers, then the order. Fix the first stage that fails and leave the others alone for that round.
  • No views is a reach problem, not a price problem: check for a hidden-listing message, the category and holiday mode before you cut anything.
  • Favourites with no offers usually means the ask sits above where comparable items left the market. Measure the gap against that median instead of guessing.
  • Offers on Vinted aren't binding and can't go more than 40% below your price, so set a floor from your costs before you list and counter at it.
  • Edit the listing rather than deleting and relisting: Vinted's Terms restrict repeated re-listing, and its help page removes duplicate listings.

Why are my Vinted items not selling? Nearly always because buyers drop off at one stage: they don't see the listing, they see it and scroll past, they favourite it but won't commit at your price, or they make offers that don't turn into an order. Each stage has a different cause, and a price cut only fixes one of them.

Below: how to find your stage, what to change at each one, and when to relist, lower or Bump. Vinted rules were checked on 13 September 2026; every number in the examples is made up. This page is part of the Vinted reseller guide.

Why are my Vinted items not selling? Find the stage where buyers drop off

Which stage is failing?
  1. 1ViewsNear zero after a few days: a reach problem. Check hidden status, category and holiday mode first.
  2. 2FavouritesViews but few favourites: buyers see the first photo, title and price in the grid and move on.
  3. 3Offers or messagesFavourites but no contact: interest without commitment. Test the price against comparables.
  4. 4Buy nowOffers that don't become orders: the gap is at the offer floor or in the bundle.
  5. 5OrderSold. Log the days it took so the next review point comes from your own data.
A method, not Vinted data. Fix the first stage that fails and change only one thing per review.

The same stage-by-stage routine, written for OLX listings, is in OLX items not selling.

Vinted publishes no conversion rates, so compare a stuck listing with your own past sales in the same category. Two ratios are enough:

favourite rate = favourites ÷ views contact rate = (offers + messages) ÷ favourites

Work both out for your last sold items in the category (where you can see view counts), then for the stuck one. The ratio furthest below your own baseline marks the stage to fix.

Example: your sold knitwear averaged 1 favourite per 12 views and 1 offer per 4 favourites. A stuck jumper has 180 views, 15 favourites and no offers: photos are fine, price is the problem.

No views? Check visibility first

Low reach has causes you can check before touching the listing:

  • Vinted inbox: help page 62 says "We'll always notify you with a Vinted inbox message" when a listing is hidden or removed
  • Hidden-listing triggers on that page: wrong category, poor-quality photos, unrelated brands, excessive hashtags, or a price, size or condition that is unclear or misleading
  • Holiday mode: help page 60 says it hides all your items at once
  • Age: the same page says a new upload may go through an automated check that usually takes 1–2 seconds but "can sometimes take up to 3–4 days"

Vinted's "Our platform" page (§8) names upload recency, price, brand, engagement (views, clicks, favourites), the buyer's history and Bumps as ranking factors, with no weights. On "shadowbans": the Terms let Vinted "demote, hide or remove your Content", but don't say whether you are told about a demotion, and durations like "7–14 days" come from third-party blogs only. Ranking factors and myths are in how the Vinted algorithm ranks listings.

Views but no favourites: photos and titles

If views come but favourites don't, your first photo, price and title are losing to the listings beside them in the grid.

  • First photo: search for your item and find your thumbnail among the first 20 results. If it is darker, busier or more cropped than its neighbours, reshoot it first.
  • Title: brand, item type and size in plain words. The Catalogue Rules ban unrelated brands in the title, description and hashtags.
  • Real photos: the Catalogue Rules forbid stock, ad and watermarked images, and help page 62 lists pictures "taken from another website, including stock photos" as a removal reason.

Decision rule: change the photo or the title, not both, and wait for enough views to compare the favourite rate again. The shot list for second-hand items is in product photos that sell second-hand items.

Favourites but no offers: price vs comparable items

This is the price case: the buyer wants the item, but not at this price. Measure the gap against comparables that left the market, not live asks, which include the ones nobody bought:

price gap % = (your price − median last price of comparables that left the market) ÷ that median

Example: five comparable jackets disappeared at 140, 150, 155, 160 and 175 zł, so the median is 155 zł. Yours is listed at 180 zł: a gap of 25 ÷ 155 = 16%. Vinted doesn't publish a gap buyers accept, so the test is whether you can name what makes yours worth the difference, such as a scarcer size, better condition or original tags. If you can't, step down one price level.

Building comparables and price levels is covered in how to price items on Vinted, and pacing each cut in when to lower your price. Before a public cut, two documented tools help:

  • Offer to the interested buyer. Help 57 says that when a buyer favourites your item or asks about it, you can send them an offer. Help 258 (UK and Polish versions) says seller offers go through the conversation screen, can be up to 40% below the listed price, and are visible only to that buyer.
  • Price drops reach followers. Help 57 (UK and PL) says your followers are notified when you list a new item or lower a price. Whether members who favourited the item get an alert is not stated on the pages we read.

Offers but no sale: offer floor and bundles

Offers that go nowhere usually come down to a missing floor or a buyer who wants more than one item. Vinted's help page 258 sets out the mechanics:

  • Offers "aren't binding": an accepted offer still leaves the item available to others until the buyer presses Buy now.
  • Buyers can offer up to 40% below your price and send up to 25 offers a day; sellers have no limit.
  • Offers cover the item price only, not postage or fees.

Set the floor when you list, from your own costs. Vinted's price list shows no seller commission and the buyer pays shipping (help 753), so on a private sale the floor is simple:

offer floor = purchase cost + packaging + the minimum profit you'll accept

Example: you paid 60 zł, packaging costs 3 zł and you won't sell for less than 30 zł profit, so the floor is 93 zł. Listed at 120 zł, the lowest possible offer is 72 zł (40% off). Accept anything at or above 93 zł; below that, decline and counter at 93 zł with Make an offer in the conversation.

If a buyer is eyeing several of your items, a bundle can close it. Help 257 says buyers can bundle your listings (up to 100 items per order) and make an offer on the bundle, which you can accept, decline or counter; help 57 suggests a discount for buyers of more than one item. Example: three tops at 40, 45 and 50 zł total 135 zł; a 10% multi-item discount makes 121.50 zł, above the 108 zł floor you set for the three.

Relist, lower or Bump?

Match the fix to the symptom:

Symptom Likely cause Fix
Few or no views, several days live Hidden, wrong category, holiday mode, weak title Check inbox and settings; fix category and title
Views, few favourites First photo or title losing in the grid Reshoot the first photo, rewrite the title
Favourites, no offers Ask above comparables that left the market Offer to interested buyers, then step down one level
Offers below what you'll take No floor, or a buyer after a deal Counter at your floor; suggest a bundle
Relisting. Vinted's Terms (UK version applicable from 30-04-2026, with the same clause in the Polish, German and French versions) say users must not "delete and re-list the same Item multiple times or multiple Items in bulk". Help page 62 lists a duplicate listing, and an item hidden multiple times for the same reason, as grounds for removal. Vinted has announced updated Terms taking effect on 5 October 2026 in Germany and France and on 8 October 2026 in the UK, US and Poland; press coverage of the UK, US and Australia update reports the relisting rules unchanged. Check the new text after those dates.

Bumping. A Bump lasts 3 or 7 days, one per item, priced only at checkout (help 340). It buys views, so use it only when views are the failing stage and the listing is sound; help 62 says Bumps aren't refunded for items later hidden or removed. The break-even is in is a Vinted Bump worth it.

Lowering. Cut only when favourites aren't turning into offers and the listing is past your own review point, measured as in how long it takes to sell on Vinted. If it sits at your floor for a full review period with no offer, stop cutting and see how to liquidate unsold inventory.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I get favourites but no sales?
A favourite costs the buyer nothing, so it tells you the item is wanted, not that the price is accepted. Usually the ask sits above what comparable pieces left the market at, or a cheaper near-identical listing is taking the order. Check your price against those exits first. If it holds up, answer the interest directly: Vinted's help pages say you can send an offer to a member who favourited or asked about your item, visible only to them.
Should I delete and relist on Vinted?
No. Vinted's Terms say users must not delete and re-list the same item multiple times or multiple items in bulk, and its help page lists duplicate listings among the reasons a listing is removed. Edit the live listing instead: new first photo, clearer title, or a lower price. The updated Terms taking effect in October 2026 are reported to leave the relisting rule unchanged, but read the new text once it applies in your country.
Should I lower my price or wait?
Wait if the listing is younger than the point where half of your similar past items had sold, or if a Bump is still running. Lower it if the listing is older than that, has views and favourites, and gets no offers. Drop one price level rather than a round percentage, and never below your break-even. If views are missing entirely, a lower price won't help much: fix visibility first.
