How Long Does It Take to Sell on Vinted?

Vinted publishes no average, so here is how to measure your own days to sell and what changes it.

Calendar with Vinted listings dropping off day by day, showing days from listing to sale
Key takeaways
  • None of the Vinted pages we read in September 2026 publish an average time to sell, and the one days-to-sell claim our search research found, a blog post about sneakers, could not be verified.
  • Days to sell for your own items = order date − first-listed date. Take the median per category and keep the unsold pieces in the count, or the category looks faster than it is.
  • For other sellers you only see listings leave the market. Follow comparable listings from the day they go live and note the first check where fewer than half are still live.
  • Vinted's ranking uses upload recency, price, brand and engagement, but its Terms ban deleting and relisting the same item multiple times, so edit the price instead of reposting.
  • The order date is not the cash date. Vinted's UK, PL, FR and DE help pages give you 5 business days to ship, and on its UK help pages completion, balance and bank withdrawal each add more days.

How long does it take to sell on Vinted? Vinted doesn't say. None of the help pages we read publish an average, and the one days-to-sell figure our search research found, a blog claim about sneakers, could not be verified, so we don't repeat it. The number worth planning with is your own median per category, plus a count of how fast similar listings leave the market.

This page shows how to measure both, what Vinted says shifts them, and how long the money takes to arrive after the order. It is part of our Vinted reseller guide.

How long does it take to sell on Vinted? There is no published average

At the time of writing (September 2026), this is what exists:

Figure Published? What to use instead
Average days to sell on Vinted No Your own median per category
Days to sell by brand or category No Comparable listings you follow yourself
"Sneakers sell in X days" blog claims Not verified Your own count for that brand and size

Decision rule: if a time-to-sell number doesn't say which country site, which period and how a sale was confirmed, don't plan stock around it.

The metric has its own glossary entry — days to sell — with how it relates to sell-through rate and liquidity.

Measuring your own days to sell

days to sell = order date − first-listed date

Use the day the buyer ordered, not the payout day. If you edit or repost a piece, keep the first-listed date. The reseller inventory and profit tracker already has listed_date, sale_date and a days_to_sell column (=I-H). The semicolon version opens correctly in Polish Excel.

The usual mistake is taking the median of sold items only. The unsold pieces are the slow ones, so leaving them out makes a category look faster.

Pair it with your sell-through rate for the same period: days to sell describes single pieces, sell-through the share of stock that moved.

Estimating time to leave the market for similar listings

When your own history is thin, follow comparable listings. There is one limit. A listing that disappears may have sold, or it may have been reserved, hidden, deleted or relisted. Can you see sold prices on Vinted? goes through each case, so count these as items that left the market, not as sales.

  1. On the day they go live, pick 10–20 listings that match your item on brand, type, size and condition. Split them into a lower-priced and a higher-priced group.
  2. Check them on day 1, 3, 7, 14, 21 and 30. Record how many are still live, and keep the ones that never leave in the count.
  3. A group's typical days on market is the first check where fewer than half are still live.
Example: share of comparable listings still live, by price group
Still live
0%25%50%75%100%037142130Days since listed
  • Lower-priced group (10 listings)
  • Higher-priced group (10 listings)
Example values, not Vinted data. The lower-priced group falls below half by day 7, the higher-priced group only by day 30. Neither line shows sales, only listings leaving the market.Illustrative example, not market data

In this example, six of the ten lower-priced listings left within 7 days, against one of the ten higher-priced ones. If you need a piece gone within a week, price it near the lower group. If you price with the higher group, plan for about a month. Turning these counts into a "chance to leave within 7 days" before you buy is covered in how to check resale demand.

What changes how fast an item sells: price, category, season, photos

Vinted's "Our platform" page (section 8) says ranking uses "how long ago the item was uploaded, the price and the brand", engagement such as views, clicks and favourites, the buyer's own history, and Bumps. Vinted's US help article on choosing a price (vinted.com, checked 13 Sept 2026) adds that a price lower than its catalogue average "might help you sell faster". Neither puts a number on the effect.

Factor What Vinted's pages say Test it on your numbers
Price Ranking factor. Below catalogue average "might help" (US help 376) Compare days to sell for pieces priced with the lower group against the higher group
Category and brand Brand is a ranking factor Keep a separate median per category
Season None of the pages we read give seasonal data Group your pieces by the month they were listed
Photos Must be real, not stock or taken from ads (Catalogue Rules) Reshoot one slow piece, keep the price, and log the age at which it sells
Bump Lasts 3 or 7 days, or until the item sells (UK help 340), and "temporarily affects" ranking (Our platform §8) Log Bump dates in the notes column

Upload recency is a ranking factor, which tempts people to repost. Vinted's UK Terms say users must not "delete and re-list the same Item multiple times or multiple Items in bulk", so change the price by editing the listing instead. Vinted has announced updated Terms taking effect on 5 Oct 2026 in Germany and France and on 8 Oct 2026 in the UK, US and Poland. Press coverage of the UK, US and Australia update reports no change to the relisting rules; check the new text after that date. If a piece gets views but no offers, why your Vinted items aren't selling works through the funnel.

After the sale: shipping deadline and payout timing

Days to sell stops at the order, but the cash comes later. Vinted's help pages for the UK, Poland, France and Germany give you 5 business days to ship before the order is cancelled automatically. You can ask the buyer for 3 or 5 more business days, and they may refuse. The rest of the chain comes from UK help pages only:

Step UK help pages say
Order placed Payment shows as "Pending balance"
After delivery Buyer has 2 days to confirm or report a problem
Order completes Payment reaches your balance "within 2 days"
Pro orders Complete "after 14 days, unless the buyer raises an issue"
Bank withdrawal "up to 5 business days"

We did not verify carrier delivery times, or payout timing for Poland, France and Germany. Press reports say EU balances move from Mangopay to "Vinted Pay" under the October 2026 Terms, so re-check your country's help centre after that date.

Example (UK, private seller): say you ship 2 days after the order, the parcel arrives 3 days later, the buyer confirms on the second day of their window, and the payment reaches your balance 2 days after that. That is 9 days from order to Vinted balance. The bank transfer then takes up to 5 more business days.

Using your numbers to set markdown review points

Put two numbers side by side: your own median days to sell for the category, and the first check at which fewer than half of comparable listings at your price were still live. Then run this for each live piece:

  • Piece younger than both numbers: leave the price alone.
  • Older than one of them: check its views and favourites against pieces of a similar age in your records.
  • Older than both: review it, and compare its price with the group that is leaving faster.
  • Comparables one price level lower leave much faster: step down one level rather than cutting by a random percentage.
  • Write the decision and the date in the notes column, then set the next review.

How far to step, and when to stop cutting, is covered in when to lower your price.

Example: your knitwear median is about 27 days. In your survival count, the higher-priced comparables only fell below half by day 30, while the lower-priced ones did by day 7. A jumper listed 35 days ago at a higher-group price has passed both points, so review it and test a one-level step down.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure how long my items take to sell?
Log two dates per item: the day it first went live and the day a buyer ordered it. Subtract one from the other. Three cases trip people up. If two pieces go in one bundle, give both the same order date. If you take a piece down unsold, record the removal date and mark it unsold rather than deleting the row. If you repost a piece, keep the original listed date. Then take the median per category, with the unsold pieces still counted.
When should I review a listing that hasn't sold?
Set the trigger from your own shop, not from a figure someone else posted. Take the age by which half of your past pieces in that category had sold, and review any live piece older than that. Put the next review at the same interval again, so a slow category gets checked less often than a fast one. Each review ends in a written decision, even if the decision is to leave the price alone.
How long after a sale does Vinted pay out?
On Vinted's UK help pages, checked in September 2026, the money stays as a pending balance until the order completes. The buyer has 2 days after delivery to confirm or report a problem, and after completion payment reaches your balance within 2 days. A bank withdrawal takes up to 5 business days. Pro orders complete after 14 days unless the buyer raises an issue. Timings for Poland, France and Germany were not confirmed.
