Manual vs Software Crosslisting
Below a certain catalog size, your evenings are the cheaper tool.

- Manual crosslisting is free in money and expensive in minutes: at 14 minutes per item for two extra marketplaces, 40 new listings a month costs about 9 hours of your evenings.
- Software swaps your minutes for a subscription plus setup and review. As displayed on 13 September 2026, Vendoo starts at $14.99 a month and List Perfectly at $29 — and drafts still need checking, so software minutes never reach zero.
- Break-even listings per month = subscription ÷ (minutes saved per listing ÷ 60 × your hourly rate). In the worked example it lands near 12 listings; compute yours from your own four numbers before paying.
- No tool removes photos, condition checks or the double-sale watch: Vendoo's auto-delist is beta and marketplace-limited, List Perfectly gates Auto Delist to Pro Plus, and List Perfectly states it does not auto-publish — you click.
- Marketplace terms decide what a tool may do on your account: Depop explicitly allows third-party crosslisting platforms, Vinted restricts external tools and bulk relisting, and Grailed, Poshmark and Mercari ban the automation their own pages name.

Manual crosslisting costs nothing in money and your evenings in time; software flips that and adds setup and review work the subscription price does not show. Below roughly a dozen new listings a month — or on marketplaces whose terms restrict tools — copying by hand is the cheaper option. Past that point software usually pays for itself, but it never removes photos, condition checks or the double-sale watch.
The manual crosslisting vs software question is a volume question, and this page is the arithmetic — worked examples you can rerun on your own numbers.
What manual crosslisting really costs per item
The unit that matters is minutes per item per extra marketplace. Once your photos are taken and the description is written, each additional marketplace means: open the site, create a listing, upload photos again, fill in title, description, price, category and shipping, then publish. Work on 7 minutes as a planning assumption for a practiced hand — 14 minutes for two extra marketplaces.
Example: you add 40 new items a month and crosslist each to two extra marketplaces. That is 40 × 14 = 560 minutes, about 9 hours 20 minutes. Value an evening hour at whatever rate makes the trade clear — say €12 — and the month's copying is worth around €112 of your time. If the hours come out of your selling week, they crowd out sourcing.
Measure your own rate before trusting any assumption, including this one: time three items and average them.
What software costs: subscription, setup, review
The sticker price is the smallest part. As displayed on 13 September 2026, Vendoo starts at $14.99 a month on monthly billing, and List Perfectly at $29 — but features sit on different tiers, so price the job you want done. Vendoo reserves bulk actions (up to 240 listings) and AI Listing Enhancement for Growth and up; List Perfectly's Simple plan copies title, description and price only, and gates Auto Delist to Pro Plus at $99+.
Setup is a one-off evening: install the extension, connect accounts, import or link existing listings. Vendoo is desktop-first — its help pages say you must use the computer to get started, and the mobile app cannot import — so plan a keyboard session.
Review is the recurring part most people forget: a draft copied to another marketplace still needs category, condition label, size, shipping profile and price checked — call it 1–2 minutes per listing. Software minutes don't fall to zero; they fall from 14 to roughly 3.
The break-even calculation with your numbers
Worked example: a $29 subscription is about €27. You save 14 − 3 = 11 minutes per listing, worth €2.20 at €12 an hour. Break-even: 27 ÷ 2.20 ≈ 12 new listings a month. Under that, your evenings are the cheaper tool; over it, the subscription starts paying you back in hours.
- Manual: 14 min per item, valued at €12/h
- Software: one plan, flat
Read the crossing point, not the slopes: the manual line scales without mercy — double the listings, double the hours — while the dashed line stays flat until a feature gate pushes you up a tier. Your monthly volume decides which cost you pay.
What software does not remove: photos, checks, double sales
Three jobs stay with you whichever way you go.
Photos. You take them once, but no tool takes them, and each marketplace has its own photo habits — a rule you still apply by eye.
Honesty checks. Condition description, measurements, and a second look for flaws or fakes are your judgement, per listing. A tool that copies text fast also copies mistakes fast.
The double-sale watch. Detection is partial on both sides as of September 2026. Vendoo labels sale detection and auto-delisting beta, limited to named marketplaces (eBay, Poshmark, Depop, Mercari and Whatnot on its US help page), computer on and awake. List Perfectly detects sales on "connected marketplaces" but gates Auto Delist to Pro Plus, and its January 2025 guide omits Vinted; it also states it does not auto-publish — you click. On Vinted, both the publish and the delist are yours either way. How to avoid double sales is the routine that sits underneath either tool.
When manual wins, when software wins
Manual wins if:
- you add fewer than your break-even number of listings a month;
- you sell on one or two marketplaces — or on ones the tools don't name: OLX and Allegro Lokalnie appear on neither Vendoo's nor List Perfectly's public marketplace lists;
- each listing needs its own wording, so a template saves little;
- you're testing a new category and don't yet know what repeats.
Software wins if:
- you run 50+ active listings across 3+ marketplaces;
- a price change or a sale must reach several platforms in one move;
- your catalogue repeats — sizes, brands, fields — so templates earn their keep;
- you will actually run the review step. An unchecked draft queue is a listing-quality problem in slow motion.
So the honest answer to "is it worth it" is a number, not a brand. The reseller tools compared sorts the field by job, crosslisting tool alternatives groups options by leaving reason, and the reseller automation guide covers what else around the listing can be systematised.
If you crosslist: the marketplace rules that constrain tools
A tool's marketing page is not permission. Each marketplace's terms decide what software may touch your account, and they disagree.
- Vinted — the UK Terms in force on 13 September 2026 (version of 30 April 2026) bar "any kind of external software tools … unless such a use is authorised, offered or in any other way allowed by us", and ban deleting and re-listing "the same Item multiple times or multiple Items in bulk"; the Polish Terms (15 September 2025) carry a matching clause. Vinted's official API is open only to allowlisted Vinted Pro businesses. Updated Terms take effect 5 October 2026 (DE/FR) and 8 October 2026 (UK/PL); press reports say the automation rules are unchanged, but re-read your own country's version after its date.
- Depop — its Terms, effective 2 September 2026, explicitly allow listing "via third party cross-listing platforms" if you delist promptly when an item sells elsewhere and accept responsibility (including refunds) for a double sale. Bots are banned.
- Grailed — its terms ban "applications, browser extensions, plugins, or third-party tools" without prior written consent, and automated offers or purchases without direct human review of each transaction.
- Poshmark — its community guidelines bar unauthorised automation, including deleting and reposting, liking, sharing and following.
- Mercari (US) — its Prohibited Conduct policy bans "any robot, spambot, spider, crawler, scraper or other automated means or interface not provided by us".
Marketplace automation rules reads each platform's clauses in detail, and the crosslisting guide for European resellers puts the whole workflow — master listing, pricing, delisting — in one place.
