Tracking Profit by Marketplace
Total profit hides which marketplace is doing the work. Split it by channel and the next sourcing decision gets easier.

- Gross sales totals hide the real picture — track net profit per marketplace instead.
- Vinted charges sellers nothing; Allegro Lokalnie takes 7.9% (4.9% electronics); OLX commission is unpublished so record the actual deduction.
- Payout timing differs: Vinted releases funds 2 days after delivery completion plus up to 5 business days for withdrawal; OLX releases 48 hours after pickup if no claim.
- DAC7 reporting combines Allegro and Allegro Lokalnie sales — both platforms count toward the 30-sale or 2,000 EUR threshold.
If you track only total revenue across all platforms, you miss which channel actually pays you most. One marketplace may generate more listings but eat profits through fees or slow payouts. Tracking net profit per channel shows the true picture.
This page covers the columns you need, how each platform's fees work, when you get paid, and how to run a monthly channel review. For a broader approach to inventory management, see the inventory management guide.
Why totals mislead
Gross sales numbers treat every zł the same. For example, say you sell an item for 200 zł on Vinted and keep the whole amount because sellers pay nothing. On Allegro Lokalnie, that same 200 zł sale leaves you with 184.20 zł after 7.9% commission. If you also paid 12 zł for shipping, your net is 172.20 zł — a significant gap from the gross number.
The column method below separates each step so you see exactly what reaches your bank account per marketplace. For understanding the difference between what you collect and what you keep, see gross margin vs net margin.
The tracking columns
Create a spreadsheet with these columns for every sale:
| Column | What goes here |
|---|---|
| Marketplace | Vinted, OLX, or Allegro Lokalnie |
| Sale price | What the buyer paid (including buyer protection fee if shown separately) |
| Marketplace fee | Commission or deducted amount |
| Shipping you paid | Your cost for the label or courier |
| Buy price | What you paid to acquire the item |
| Extra costs | Cleaning, repairs, packaging materials |
| Net payout | Sale price − marketplace fee − shipping you paid |
| Profit | Net payout − buy price − extra costs |
| Days listed | From publication to sale |
| Payout date | When money arrived in your account |
The formulas are straightforward:
net_payout_zl = sale_price − marketplace_fee − shipping_you_paidprofit_zl = net_payout − buy_price − extra_costsroi = profit / (buy_price + extra_costs)

Fee rules that differ per channel
Each platform charges differently, and the rules affect what you record:
Vinted — Selling is free for individuals. The only seller-side costs are optional Bump and Showcase, which appear as separate line items when you use them. The buyer pays the buyer protection fee, which does not affect your payout. Record marketplace fee as zero unless you used a promotion product.

Allegro Lokalnie — Listing is free. The commission is 7.9% of the item value for most categories (4.9% for electronics). Local pickup listings cost nothing. The fee is charged only if the buyer completes payment within 72 hours or fills in the delivery form. If you refund the buyer through Allegro, the commission is refunded. Record the percentage that applies to each category.
OLX — The "Zapłać, jeśli sprzedasz" (pay if you sell) model charges commission as a percentage of the gross item price, possibly plus a fixed element, with delivery fees excluded. The rate is not published in OLX's public documents. Record the exact deduction shown in your payout summary — over time you will see the effective rate. This requires using OLX shipping and OLX Payments.
For a detailed comparison of these and other platforms, see Poland marketplace fees. If you want to know which platform charges the least in theory before you list, see cheapest marketplace by price.
Money timing per channel
Knowing when you get paid matters for cash flow:
Vinted — Payment is pending from the moment the buyer purchases until the order completes. The buyer has 2 days after delivery to complete the order or open a claim. After completion, payment arrives within 2 days. Bank withdrawal then takes up to 5 business days. From sale to usable funds, our rule of thumb is to plan for roughly 9 business days minimum.
OLX — Payout is ordered when the buyer confirms receiving a conforming item, or 48 hours after pickup or delivery if no Pakiet Ochronny claim is filed. If the buyer does not confirm within 72 hours or you do not hand over the parcel within 3 working days, the buyer is refunded automatically.
Allegro Lokalnie — Funds are released after the buyer pays and the transaction completes, typically within the same timeframe as Allegro proper.
Monthly channel review
At the end of each month, calculate three numbers for each marketplace:
- Total net profit — sum of profit column for that channel
- Average profit per item — total profit divided by number of sales
- Average profit per hour — if you track time spent listing and shipping, divide total profit by hours worked
These numbers reveal which channel delivers the best return on your time and inventory investment. If Vinted generates the most sales but Allegro Lokalnie yields higher profit per item, consider sourcing more items suited for the Allegro buyer.
If one channel consistently outperforms, direct more inventory there. If a channel shows low profit despite high volume, examine whether fees or low sale prices are the cause.
For OLX, your records become your source of truth since the rate is unpublished. If you notice the commission rising, that may signal a policy change.
If you sell on both Allegro and Allegro Lokalnie, remember that DAC7 reporting treats them as one — the 30-sale and 2,000 EUR thresholds are combined across both platforms. Being reported creates no new tax obligation, but it is part of your compliance record.
