Marketplace Fees in Poland: Vinted, OLX and Allegro Lokalnie

Two fee models: seller commission vs buyer-paid fees

A seller commission is taken from your payout or billed to your account, so it lowers what you keep. A buyer-paid fee is added to the buyer's checkout total: your payout stays at the price you set, but the buyer sees a higher number.

Decision rule: if a fee appears only at the buyer's checkout, leave it out of your profit; if it is deducted from you or invoiced to you, subtract it. The full profit formula around this rule is in how to calculate reselling profit.

Vinted Poland: a buyer-paid fee and optional bumps

The Polish price list, updated 15.09.2025, says the Buyer Protection fee is "zwykle jest to 5% + 2,90 zł": usually 5% plus 2.90 zł, VAT included. It varies with item characteristics, order value and order type, and the exact figure appears at checkout. Two optional buyer services sit on top: Item Verification at 45 zł and Electronics Verification at 20 zł.

Your only seller-side charges are Bump (3 or 7 days, priced by item price, duration and domestic or international reach) and Showcase (7 days, at least 5 listed items). Neither price is published. Country formulas and the Bump detail are on Vinted fees by country.

For resellers the tighter Vinted limit isn't a fee: Vinted's Catalogue Rules (UK version) don't let individual users list items intended for commercial sale. The Polish help page 1120 lists the same signals of commercial activity and says Vinted Pro is not open to Polish businesses.

OLX: listing limits, with commission and protection amounts not published

OLX documents how you pay, not how much. Your costs can sit in four places:

Promotions (Odświeżenie, Wyróżnienie for 3, 7 or 30 days, Pakiet Mini, Midi and Maxi) are priced by category and duration during publication. Third-party sites quote pay-if-sold rates that OLX's documents don't contain, so we leave them out.

Decision rule: before counting an OLX sale as fee-free, check three things in the app: free listings left in the category, the promotion price shown, and the pay-if-sold rate if you choose it. The full category table is on OLX listing limits by category.

Allegro Lokalnie: 7.9%, 4.9% or 0%

Allegro's Lokalnie fee page sets three rates:

• Kup teraz and auctions: 7.9% of item value.
• Elektronika: 4.9%. A 2026 secondary Polish source reports 4% for electronics; the official page we read says 4.9%, so check the fee shown when you list.
• Local listings (ogłoszenia lokalne): 0 zł.

The fee is charged only when the buyer pays within 72 hours or fills in the delivery form, goes on your Allegro account bill, and is refunded if you refund the buyer through Allegro. Listing is free except paid packages for motoring and real estate. Only regular (private) accounts can sell; business accounts can buy but not list. Worked example: a 100 zł jacket on Vinted and Allegro Lokalnie

Example: you list a jacket at 100 zł. On Lokalnie it isn't electronics, so Kup teraz takes 7.9%.

Both online routes cost 7.90 zł; only the payer differs. The local listing costs nothing in fees, but the Allegro buyer protection pages we read mention Kup teraz and auction purchases, not local listings, so agree payment and handover with care.

Worked example: a 1,000 zł phone on Vinted and Allegro Lokalnie

Example: a used phone at 1,000 zł. On Vinted the usual fee is 50 + 2.90 = 52.90 zł; on Lokalnie, Elektronika at 4.9% is 49 zł.

Vinted says its fee varies with order value, so open checkout on a phone at this price before trusting the usual formula.

Same buyer total, different payout

Buyers who shop both sites compare totals, so rerun the examples with equal buyer totals. Example: to make a Vinted buyer pay 1,000 zł, you list at (1,000 − 2.90) ÷ 1.05 = 949.62 zł and keep that; Lokalnie Elektronika leaves you 951 zł. At a 100 zł buyer total the same sum gives 92.48 zł on Vinted against 92.10 zł on Lokalnie Kup teraz.

The gap is 0.38 zł on the 100 zł jacket, with Vinted ahead, and 1.38 zł on the 1,000 zł phone, with Lokalnie ahead. Both are under half a per cent of what the buyer pays, so the price each marketplace will actually hold for your item decides the result.

What the headline fee leaves out

Costs that sit next to the percentage:

• Shipping: Vinted's help page (UK version) says the buyer pays for and chooses shipping; Allegro's Lokalnie fee page lists Allegro Paczkomaty InPost at 10.95 zł and Allegro One Box at 10.49 zł, so count them if you cover delivery
• Smart! on Lokalnie: if you and the buyer both have Smart!, Allegro pays for the first 6 parcels a quarter; with Smart! bez limitu you pay 4.99 zł per free Smart! sale after that pool
• Promotions: Vinted Bump and OLX promotions are paid before you know the item will sell; OLX doesn't refund an unused promotion if you delete the listing or the item sells
• Returns: after an accepted OLX Pakiet Ochronny claim the item comes back at your shipping cost; Vinted's UK help says the buyer pays return shipping; Lokalnie refunds its fee if you refund through Allegro
• Quotas: on OLX, a listing above your category limit is a cost even if no commission applies
