Fee models: buyer-paid vs limits and packages

Vinted. The Polish price list (updated 15.09.2025) says the Buyer Protection fee is "zwykle jest to 5% + 2,90 zł": a usual rate, paid by the buyer and shown at checkout. The only seller-side charges on the price list are Bump and Showcase, with no published price.

OLX. Your costs can sit in three places:

• listings beyond your free quota, or in fully paid categories such as cars;
• Annex 2 promotions: Odświeżenie (refresh, once or daily for 7 days) and Wyróżnienie (highlight, 3, 7 or 30 days), priced during publication;
• "Zapłać, jeśli sprzedasz" (Annex 6): a percentage of the gross item price, possibly plus a fixed element, deducted from your payout. It needs OLX shipping and Płatności OLX, and Annex 6 gives no rate.

Package prices and the Pakiet Ochronny amount are not in the documents we read.

Decision rule: on OLX, check your remaining free listings in the category and the promotion price shown during publication; if you choose pay-if-sold, find its rate in the app first, since Annex 6 doesn't publish one.

Vinted's updated Terms take effect in Poland on 8 October 2026, and Value Added Resource reports the buyer charge is renamed "Vinted fee", so re-check the price list then. Worked zł examples for all three Polish marketplaces: marketplace fees in Poland.

Listing limits and duplicates

OLX Annex 3 (effective 7 January 2026) sets free listings per category. A limit renews 30 days after the last listing counted in it was published, unless the table sets another period.

Business limits apply if you publish with the "firmowe" parameter or hold Business User status. In free and limited categories OLX allows one listing per item at a time, and a listing you ended less than 14 days earlier still counts as a duplicate.

Vinted publishes no listing quota on the pages we read; its limit is who is selling. Standard accounts may not list "items which are intended to be sold for commercial purposes". Help page 1120 lists signals such as many new items, identical items in several sizes and stock photos; its Polish version says Pro is not open to Polish businesses. The Terms also ban deleting and relisting "the same Item multiple times or multiple Items in bulk".

Delivery, payment and protection

OLX decides claims within 30 days and gives you 120 hours to respond. Vinted's Polish payout timing wasn't on the pages we read.

Audience by category: which items suit each

Neither platform publishes buyer numbers by category in the documents we read, so the matrix sorts items by what you can judge: does it post easily, and will a buyer want to inspect it first?

• Several phones a month: OLX business users get no free listings for smartphones, laptops, consoles or TVs, so budget for paid listings; on Vinted, check the commercial-selling signals first.
• Cars and property: OLX has Motoryzacja (cars, fully paid) and Nieruchomości (property, paid with exceptions); the Vinted pages we read cover neither. Vinted's Catalogue Rules ban tickets, gift cards, medicines and services.

Safety and scams

OLX's Terms say consumer-protection rules don't apply between consumers and OLX is not a party to the sale. Vinted bans links to external sites in listings and profiles.

• A message asking you to open a link to "receive" money is outside the payment flow either platform describes: stop
• Cash pickup on OLX: count the money before the item leaves your hands
• Vinted: ship within 5 business days with the order's prepaid label (UK help), or ask the buyer for 3 or 5 extra business days

Pricing and haggling

Neither platform publishes haggling data, so set your floor before the first message.

Example: you paid 60 zł, the buyer collects, and you want 30 zł profit, so you walk away below 90 zł. Listing at 110 zł leaves 20 zł to give. On Vinted Poland that 110 zł usually costs the buyer 118.40 zł at checkout before shipping. On an OLX pickup the agreed price is the whole payment.

Using both

• OLX: the item must be in your possession; one listing per item, no relisting within 14 days
• Vinted: no repeated or bulk delete-and-relist
• End the other listing the moment one sells; late shipping cancels or refunds on both
• No cross-links: OLX bans links to competing classifieds, Vinted bans external links
