How OLX differs from Vinted and Allegro Lokalnie

The three Polish second-hand sites put the cost of selling in different places, and each draws a different line around who may sell.

On OLX the bottleneck is the category quota. On Vinted Poland it's the account: help page 1120 says standard accounts may not sell commercially and Pro isn't open to Polish businesses. Vinted's updated Terms take effect in Poland on 8 October 2026, so re-check its price list after that. On Allegro Lokalnie it's the fee per sale.

Private or business: what the declaration covers

OLX's Terms define a Business User (definition 33) as a person or entity running a business or professional activity who uses OLX in connection with it. Two clauses matter for a reseller:

• §3.15: your business or private declaration covers your whole activity on OLX, not a single listing.
• §3.17: a Business User must give identification and contact data before publishing, promoting, or using OLX shipping and payments.

Status also moves your quotas. Under Annex 3 you get business limits in every category if you publish with the "firmowe" (business) parameter or hold Business User status. You get them in one category if you buy or use a listing package there, or publish in Praca (jobs).

Decision rule: before you buy a package to list more phones, check the business column for that category. Smartphones are 0 for business users, so once a package puts you on business limits, every phone listing is paid.

Between two private users, §2.5 says consumer-protection rules don't apply and OLX isn't a party to the sale. As a business, even an unregistered one (działalność nierejestrowana), you owe buyers consumer rights, including 14-day withdrawal on distance sales, says biznes.gov.pl. Whether your reselling is business activity is a question for a doradca podatkowy (tax adviser); this is general information, not tax advice.

Free listing limits by category and when they renew

Annex 3 (effective 7 January 2026) sets how many free listings you get. A limit can cover one category or several combined. It renews 30 days after the publication of the last listing counted in it, unless the table sets another period.

• "-" is not a number. Annex 3 gives no legend for it, and third-party readings ("unlimited", a monthly figure) are unconfirmed.
• Books, prams and car seats are left out: their limits changed in January 2026, and the PDF text mixes struck-through old values with new ones.
• Cars: Terms §8.6 says a Motoryzacja listing price may depend on how many listings you have in the category over a period.

Every category, with what OLX shows only in the app, is on OLX listing limits by category.

Annex 3 counts renewal from publication dates, not from the day an item sells. The documents we read also don't say that ending a listing frees its place in the limit. So in the example, plan the next phone for day 36, and treat an earlier free slot in the app as a bonus, not the plan.

Packages, promotions and what you lose when a listing ends

A listing runs 30 days from publication (Terms §8.8), and AutoPrzedłużenie (auto-extension) republishes it for another 30. Past the free quota, you pay in one of three ways.

Listing packages (Annex 6): Pakiet Standard, Pakiet Premium and Megapakiet.

• Cap and units: a package allows up to 500 active listings and uses 1 unit per publication or new emission. No unit comes back if OLX removes a listing for breaking the rules.
• Prices aren't published: they're shown in the app, and the cennik (price list) links only to subpages.

Zapłać, jeśli sprzedasz (pay if you sell), also Annex 6. A commission on the gross item price, possibly plus a fixed element, excluding delivery and service fees, deducted from your payout once the buyer collects. It needs OLX delivery and Płatności OLX. Annex 6 gives no rate.

Promotions (Annex 2).

Prices depend on category and duration and appear during publication.

Decision rule: if the item is likely to go by local pickup within days, buy the shortest promotion or none, and add a refresh later if views stall.

One item, one listing: the duplicate and 14-day rule

The Terms of 27 April 2026 set how many listings an item can have:

• Free and limited categories, plus Nieruchomości, Noclegi and Zwierzęta: only one listing for the same item at a time. A listing you ended less than 14 days before adding a new one for the same item still counts.
• Other paid and limited categories: one account may run more than one listing if they differ in location, down to the district.

A few neighbouring rules trip resellers up:

• The item must be in your possession when you list it: no listing stock you haven't bought yet
• Say whether the listing is a single item, several units or a set
• No phone number or other contact data in the listing text
• No links to, or ads for, competing classifieds, so leave out your profile on another marketplace
• Similar or duplicate listings repeated many times are removed as spam (§8.18); a Consumer gets the fee back, except for repeat violations

A text search of the Terms found no explicit bot or scraping clause. That isn't permission: reviews that look automated may be removed, and moderation itself uses automated tools.

Decision rule: to get an old listing seen again, change the price or buy Odświeżenie; never end it and add it back within 14 days. The exact wording is quoted in OLX refresh vs relist.

OLX delivery, Płatności OLX and Pakiet Ochronny

OLX delivery works only with Płatności OLX, so the buyer pays up front, with Pakiet Ochronny added to the item price as a separate line. Its amount is "indicated in the listing each time"; the documents we read don't publish it.

Pakiet Ochronny covers an item that doesn't match the listing, including undisclosed damage and a "new" item showing wear (Annex 8). On an accepted claim the item comes back through Zwroty OLX at your cost. Fill in the return form and pay within 72 hours, or the buyer is refunded anyway: price, delivery and the Pakiet Ochronny charge.

Decision rule: photograph every flaw you mention and mention every flaw you photograph. On a shipped sale, the listing is what a claim is judged against. Return pickup windows and each deadline in order are in OLX delivery and Pakiet Ochronny for sellers.

Local pickup flips: meeting, cash and safety

The Terms say Pakiet Ochronny isn't charged when buyer and seller agree payment or delivery outside OLX. So a cash pickup has no 48-hour claim window and no OLX payout step: the handover is the whole transaction, whether you're selling or buying to flip. The checklist below is our editorial advice, not an OLX rule.

• Keep messages in OLX chat until you meet, and write the agreed price and what's included there
• Meet in daylight somewhere public, or with a second person if the buyer comes to you
• Count cash before the item leaves your hands; check a transfer in your own banking app, never a screenshot
• Ignore any link to "receive" payment and never share SMS codes or card details: outside OLX delivery, OLX pays you nothing
• Selling electronics: factory-reset and sign out of accounts first, and let the buyer test it in front of you
• Buying to flip: test it yourself, check the serial or IMEI, and walk away if the seller won't allow either

Pricing on OLX when buyers expect to haggle

The OLX documents we read have no data on how far buyers negotiate, and we haven't measured it, so there's no typical discount to quote. Set your floor before the first message instead, by how the item leaves. If the item sits with no messages at all, work through OLX items not selling: a stage-by-stage diagnosis before touching the floor:

Use the second line only with Zapłać, jeśli sprzedasz. Annex 6 publishes neither the rate nor the fixed element, so take both from the app; a missing rate isn't zero.

Two OLX-specific points:

• A delivery buyer pays more than your price: Pakiet Ochronny and delivery come on top, so "too expensive" may be about the checkout total.
• Edit the price in place: a relist inside 14 days is a duplicate, and a deleted listing takes its promotion with it.

Reselling on OLX by category: what the quotas allow

OLX's documents have no sales figures by category, and neither do we, so this isn't a ranking of what sells. It's what the limits table above means for sourcing.

• Phones, laptops, consoles, TVs: hold more units than the private quota and the extras wait for renewal or go up paid. A package won't get you round it: it moves the category to business limits, which are 0 here.
• Furniture: buy a second piece only if you'll pay to list it or can hold it until the 60-day period ends.
• Team and individual sports: one of the larger private quotas, so a private seller can keep a steady flow of gear listed free; a business pays for every listing.
• Antiques and collectibles: workable for a private collector-seller; a business pays from the first listing.
• Fashion and kids: don't plan private clothing volume on OLX until you know what "-" means for your account.
• Cars, property, services: no free quota, so put the listing cost into your buy price before you source.

DAC7 data requests and blocked payouts

Under DAC7, which Poland's Ministry of Finance says has applied since 1 July 2024, a platform reports a seller of goods if in a calendar year it enabled at least 30 sales, or paid out more than the equivalent of €2,000. The count is per platform, so OLX sales aren't added to your Vinted sales. The same guidance says DAC7 adds no new tax, and being reported doesn't by itself mean an audit.

The OLX Terms add the consequence that hits your cash: if you don't provide the required DAC7 data within 60 days after at least 2 reminders, OLX withholds your payouts. They don't say which data OLX asks for, when it reports, or exactly when the 60 days start.

• Count your OLX sales since 1 January on their own, apart from Vinted and Allegro
• Answer the first DAC7 reminder and note its date, since the Terms don't fix when the 60 days start
