Vinted Account Restricted or Blocked: Causes, Appeals and Your Money
Temporary blocks, permanent bans, the one-time appeal and the habits that keep a reseller's account safe.

- Vinted's enforcement runs in steps: warning, listing removal, demoting or hiding a listing, restricting the account, then a temporary or permanent block.
- A temporary block is lifted automatically after 7 to 30 days; Vinted does not publish which reason gets which length.
- You can appeal a block only once and only within 6 months, using the link in the inbox message or email Vinted sent.
- A permanent ban usually still lets you contact support and withdraw your balance, except in risk or fraud cases; a missing DAC7 form is a separate, fixable cause of a frozen Wallet.
- Bulk delete-and-relist, messages to 5+ users at once, bots or scraping and repeated Catalogue Rules breaks are the habits Vinted names as commercial-looking.

A Vinted account gets restricted or blocked for a specific reason listed in its Terms and help pages, not at random. A temporary block is usually lifted automatically after 7 to 30 days; a permanent ban is reserved for things like fraud, counterfeits and repeated rule breaks. This page maps the enforcement steps, what triggers each one, how to appeal, and what happens to your balance — one part of the complete Vinted reseller guide.
Restricted, hidden, suspended or banned: the enforcement steps
Vinted's Terms and Conditions describe a range of actions, not a single "ban" switch. Depending on what happened, Vinted can issue a warning, remove a listing, demote or hide a listing in search, restrict what your account can do, or block the account entirely.
- 1WarningFirst notice for a rule break
- 2Listing removedThe specific item comes down
- 3Demoted or hiddenListing stays but loses visibility
- 4Account restrictedSome account actions are limited
- 5Temporary blockLifted automatically after 7-30 days
- 6Permanent blockReserved for serious or repeated breaches
Vinted's Terms and Catalogue Rules do not publish the exact number of violations or the exact score that moves you from one step to the next. If you got a warning or a listing removal, treat it as a signal to change the specific behaviour named in the notice, not as proof of how close you are to a block.
For the full picture of what's allowed on a listing, see the Vinted Catalogue Rules that get listings removed. This page focuses on account-level restrictions and blocks.
Temporary blocks: reasons and how long they last
Vinted's help page 92 says temporary blocks are lifted automatically after 7 to 30 days. The page lists these reasons among others:
- Offensive behaviour toward another member or Vinted staff
- Posting inappropriate content in a listing, message or profile
- Repeatedly listing prohibited items after being told to stop
- Selling counterfeit or fake items
- Promoting sales off Vinted (asking buyers to pay outside the app)
- Commercial reselling on a personal account
Vinted does not say which of these reasons lands at 7 days and which lands closer to 30, and it does not publish whether a second temporary block runs longer than the first. If you're blocked, the safest assumption is the top of that range, and to stop the specific behaviour named in the notice you received.
Permanent bans: what Vinted treats as serious
The same help page separates out a shorter list of things that lead to a permanent block rather than a temporary one: illegal items, fraud, running multiple accounts, repeated counterfeit listings, live animals, repeated Catalogue Rules violations, intellectual property violations, ignoring messages from the Vinted team, and repeated commercial listings.
| Temporary block | Permanent block | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical reasons | Offensive behaviour, inappropriate content, one-off prohibited listing, off-platform sale request | Fraud, illegal items, multiple accounts, repeated counterfeits, live animals, IP violations, ignoring Vinted staff |
| Duration | 7 to 30 days, lifted automatically | Permanent |
| Appeal | Once, within 6 months | Once, within 6 months |
| Withdraw balance | Not stated for a temporary block | Yes, except risk or fraud cases |
| Open a new account | No — running another account is itself a permanent-ban reason | No — same rule applies |
Vinted's Catalogue Rules add a related, narrower sanction: a suspension — the rules name 7 days as a typical length — or a permanent block for repeated Catalogue Rules violations or for listings "of a seemingly commercial nature." Those rules forbid things like brand spam, stock photos used instead of your own, external links in a listing, and service-style wording such as "can be ordered" or "out of stock" — wording that reads like a shop, not a wardrobe clear-out.
Reseller habits that look commercial
Vinted accounts are meant for personal use, and Vinted's help page 1120 lists signals it treats as commercial activity. Its Terms separately prohibit bots and scraping, and mass messages to five or more users at once. None of this is unique to any one seller — it's about patterns Vinted's systems and staff can see:
- Bulk delete-and-relist of the same items to push them back up the search results
- Messaging 5 or more members with the same message, one after another
- Using bots, scripts or scraping tools against the Vinted site or app
- Asking a buyer to complete the sale off Vinted to avoid fees
- Listings that read like a shop: stock photos, "new stock weekly," links to an external store
Vinted does not publish a numeric threshold — a certain number of sales per week, for example — that automatically flags an account as commercial. The difference between a private seller and a business seller is a legal and tax question as much as a Vinted-enforcement one, and it's worth reading if you're scaling past occasional wardrobe sales.

Fewer listings with better margins beat volume that starts to look commercial. reva Scout estimates a fair-value price and a fast-sell price for an item before you buy it, so every listing you add is worth the account risk. These are estimates, not guarantees, and reva does not change how Vinted treats your account.
How to appeal a Vinted block
Vinted's help page 92 says you appeal through the link in the inbox message or email Vinted sent you about the block — not through a general support form. You get one appeal, and it must be made within 6 months of the block. There is no second attempt after that, so it's worth building your case properly the first time:
- Read the exact reason Vinted gave, not just "your account has been blocked"
- Gather evidence that speaks to that specific reason: screenshots, order details, message history
- Explain what happened in plain terms, without disputing rules you did break
- Send the appeal once you have everything, using the original inbox or email link
Opening a second account instead of appealing is one of the reasons listed above for a permanent block — it doesn't get around the restriction, it adds to the case against you.
Your balance, orders and data after a block
A block on your account is not automatically a block on your money. Vinted's help page 92 says permanently banned users can still contact support and withdraw their balance, except in risk or fraud cases. For how withdrawals normally work and what can go wrong with a payout, see Vinted balance and withdrawals.
One frozen-Wallet case that looks like a block but isn't: Vinted's DAC7 page says a seller who passes 30 sales or over €2,000 in a year must submit tax details, and without that form they can't sell or access the Wallet. If your account looks "restricted" and you've been selling steadily, check whether Vinted is asking for that form before assuming you've broken a rule — see DAC7 for resellers for what the form asks and why.
Vinted's updated Terms take effect on 8 October 2026 in Poland and the UK (5 October in Germany and France); enforcement wording could change after that date, so check the live Terms if you're reading this later.
An account safety checklist for resellers
Not every lockout is a rule-break on your side. Phishing messages and account takeovers are a separate, common cause — someone else gets into your account and Vinted's systems then react to what they do. See common Vinted buyer scams for how those attempts usually look.
- Never enter your Vinted password on a page reached through a message link
- Turn on any extra login verification Vinted offers, and keep your email account secure too
- Use holiday mode instead of deleting listings when you step away — deleting and relisting later can itself look like the bulk-relist pattern above
- Keep one Vinted account; don't open a second one, even "just to browse"
- Read the specific reason on any warning or listing removal and change that exact behaviour
- Save your appeal evidence (screenshots, order numbers) before you need it, not after
Vinted's holiday mode hides your listings without deleting them, which keeps your account history intact if you plan to come back.

reva Buy (live) finds items on Vinted, OLX and Allegro Lokalnie that match rules you set, and alerts you — it stops before payment so you confirm the purchase yourself. Sourcing more deliberately is one way to keep an account looking like a personal seller rather than a shop.
