Selling Kids' Clothes
Buyers shop by size and bundle, not by item.

- Buyers shop by size band: put size, season and piece count in the title — '20 pcs, size 2–3y, summer' — because that is what gets searched.
- Price the bundle per item from comparables: the worked example is twenty pieces at 130 zł, or 6.50 zł per item (about €30).
- Split a piece out only when its own comparables show exits clearly above its bundle value — in practice that means branded pieces, not basics.
- One bundle, one total price, everything disclosed: Vinted's catalogue rules require a single total for bundles, and undisclosed stains are a not-as-described claim.
Selling kids clothes on Vinted works differently from adult wardrobes: buyers search by size band and buy in bundles, so the bundle — not the single item — is the unit you price. Get the size band right, pull the branded pieces out of the basics, and price the lot per item from comparables. This page covers the size-band logic, a bundle worked example in zł and €, the test that tells you when a lot is worth splitting, and the disclosure habit that protects your ratings. The pricing tools come from the resale pricing guide.
Size bands are the real categories
Adult clothing sells by brand and cut; children's clothing sells by height band and season. A parent with a two-year-old searches '2–3y' and wants a whole wardrobe in one order, so a size band behaves like one market with its own supply and demand. Within a band, pieces compete against each other, not against the same brand in a different size.
Practical consequences:
- Title = size + season + count. '20 pcs, size 2–3y, summer' answers the three search filters a buyer actually sets.
- Never mix bands in one bundle unless you label it clearly; a mixed lot prices like a mixed lot — at the bottom.
- Off-season bands move slowly. Winter coats in size 4–5y list in October and wait; the same coat reappears in searches from September.
Decision rule: sort everything into band-and-season piles first, and only then decide what is a bundle and what is a single.
Bundles: why they dominate and how buyers read them
Bundles dominate because the buyer's problem is a whole wardrobe, not a garment. On Vinted's catalogue rules, a bundle must be labelled as a bundle and show one total price, and items in a bundle cannot be listed separately at the same time — so a piece either lives in the lot or has its own listing, never both. The bundle format, and how per-item maths changes when you sell lots, is on pricing bundles and lots.
Buyers read a bundle in a fixed order: photos first (all pieces visible, ironed if possible), then the count, then the per-item price, then the brand mix. Give them all four in the description. If a third of the pieces are stained playgrade, say so and price it in — hidden surprises cost more than honesty, as the section below shows.
Brand tiers inside one bin bag
One bag of size 2–3y usually holds two economies. Basics — high-street multipack bodysuits, plain leggings, supermarket tees — trade by weight and count, and the bundle exists to move them. Branded pieces — durable outdoor brands, premium denim, character knitwear with a following — trade on their own comparables and can be worth several basics each.
The test is mechanical, not a matter of taste: search the piece's brand and size, count live asks, and watch for two weeks. If comparable pieces leave the market at clearly more than their bundle value, list it alone; if not, back in the bag. In the worked example below the threshold sits at 15 zł — an example figure, not a rule the market publishes. Poland-specific channels and marketplace choice are covered in where to sell clothes in Poland.
Pricing a bundle: worked example in zł and €
Say you have twenty wearable pieces in size 2–3y: six branded, fourteen basics. Three ways to sell the same lot:
The single-bundle route prices 130 zł — about €30 — at 6.50 zł per item. Twenty singles gross 146 zł, or 7.30 zł per item, but each one needs photos, a listing, a parcel and a message thread. Two bundles by season sit in between at 136 zł and halve the work.
Decision rule: start at one bundle priced from comparables that left the market, and split out only the branded pieces whose own evidence clears the test from the section above. Vinted's buyer-side fee varies with order type — a bundle is one order — so the buyer's total shows at checkout; price your item price against comparable item prices, not against anyone's checkout total. The fee mechanics and the item-price habit are covered in how to price items on Vinted.
When to split a bundle into singles
Split when the evidence says so, and only then. Concretely: a piece earns its own listing when its comparables show several live asks and at least one or two market exits above the bundle threshold, and when it photographs well on its own. In the example lot, the six branded pieces (15 zł each as singles, 90 zł total) are the split candidates; the fourteen basics (4 zł each, 56 zł) are the bundle's payload.
Splitting has costs that the gross numbers hide: a listing slot per piece, packaging per order, and the risk that a 4-zł single sells alone at 3 zł after weeks. If you sell in Poland, remember parcels are the norm on Vinted, while OLX and Allegro Lokalnie lean on pickup — another reason singles of low value rarely pay their way there.
Condition and stains: the honesty rule that saves ratings
Children's clothes carry honest wear: knee marks, bobbling, sun-faded shoulders. Vinted requires a condition and a description of defects on every listing, and its help pages list undisclosed damage and missing parts among not-as-described reasons — so a stain you photograph and name costs you a few złoty, while a stain you hide can cost the payout, the item and the rating. How wear maps to price levels is in how condition changes resale price.
The habit that works: grade the bundle, then price the grade. 'Very good — no marks' prices one way; 'playgrade — marks on three pieces, shown in photos 4–6' prices lower and still sells fast, because the buyer knows exactly what arrives. Wash everything, fold it, and photograph the lot flat with every piece visible; it reads as care, and care reads as an accurate description.
Vinted's own pricing help suggests condition ranges as a share of retail for single items; a bundle needs the per-item method above instead, because a mixed-condition lot has no single retail price to shade from.
