Why expiry dates matter for your stock

An expired listing is invisible to buyers. If you forget to check when something expires and don't renew it, that item sits in your inventory while you're waiting for sales that never come. For resellers managing dozens of items, tracking expiry dates across platforms is essential — otherwise you end up with dead stock that looks active but nobody can find.

If you have items listed on multiple marketplaces, a simple spreadsheet with columns for each platform helps you see at a glance which items are about to expire. We suggest setting a reminder for day 25 on OLX (5 days before the first 30-day period ends) so you can refresh or plan to relist.

OLX: 30 days + 30 days of auto-extension

OLX displays a listing for 30 days from the moment you publish it. After those 30 days, the listing auto-extends — OLX republishes it automatically for another 30 days. For example, say you publish a listing on 1 January; it stays visible through 31 January, then auto-extends through 28 February (or 29 in a leap year). That's up to 60 days of visibility without any action from you.

The 14-day duplicate window is the other key rule. Only one listing for the same item is allowed at a time in free and limited categories. If you end a listing and add a new one for the same item within 14 days, it counts as a duplicate and OLX may remove it. This means you can't simply delete and republish to reset the clock — you need to wait until at least 14 days have passed since the old listing ended. The free-listing categories include smartphones, laptops, consoles and TVs (2 private listings per calendar month) and furniture (1 listing per 60 days).

Free-listing limits also have a timing rule. Each limit (for example, 2 private listings for smartphones and laptops) renews 30 days after the last listing counted in that limit was published. So if you use your full monthly limit early in the month, you'll have fresh quota available 30 days later.

To avoid accidentally selling the same item twice when it's listed on multiple platforms, set up a simple system: mark each item as reserved the moment you get a serious inquiry, and remove it from other marketplaces immediately after a confirmed sale.

The free-listing limit renewal clock works independently — your quota refills 30 days after your last listing, regardless of whether that listing sold or expired. Allegro Lokalnie: 7-day auctions

Allegro Lokalnie runs auctions for exactly 7 days. When the auction ends, you can list the same item again using "Kup teraz" (Buy now) at a fixed price.

The platform does not publicly disclose how long a "Kup teraz" listing or a regular local listing stays active. If you're relying on a fixed-price listing to stay active, check your dashboard periodically to confirm it's still visible.

Vinted: no expiry, but watch the Bump clock

Vinted does not publish an expiry date for regular listings. Your listing stays live until you either sell the item or delete it manually.

To temporarily boost visibility, you can buy a Bump. A Bump lasts 3 or 7 days, or until the item sells — whichever comes first. You can only have one Bump active on an item at a time. The Bump price is not published publicly and is shown at checkout. A Bump temporarily affects where your listing appears in search results.

Track expiry dates in your inventory

For active crosslisting, keep a simple tracking sheet with columns for each marketplace:

• Marketplace — OLX, Allegro Lokalnie or Vinted
• Listed on — the publication date
• Expires / Renew by — calculate the 30/60-day deadline for OLX, the 7-day auction end for Allegro, or the Bump expiry for Vinted
• Promo ends — note when a Bump or paid package stops
