Where to Sell Sneakers in Europe

Choosing a platform by condition, price and how much proof buyers will want.

A pair of worn trainers next to a boxed deadstock pair, with fee notes for Vinted, eBay and GOAT
Key takeaways
  • Vinted charges sellers no commission. The buyer pays a fee, usually 5% + €0.70 in Germany and 5% + 2.90 zł in Poland (price lists checked 13 Sept 2026), which new Terms from October 2026 rename the "Vinted fee".
  • On eBay the price line sets the fee: business sellers pay 7% on trainers from £100 (eBay.co.uk) or €100 (eBay.de). Below £100 the UK rate is 11.9%, so a £99 pair costs more in commission than a £100 one.
  • eBay authenticates trainers automatically and free to the seller from £200 or €200. Vinted's Item Verification covers shoes from £85 or 450 zł, only when the buyer adds and pays for it.
  • GOAT charges 9.5% plus a seller fee ($6 for Poland) and lets only select sellers outside the US list. StockX's fees were read through a proxy only, so re-check them.
  • Allegro Lokalnie local listings cost 0 zł to sell; OLX does not publish its pay-if-sold commission.

Where you sell a pair of sneakers in Europe comes down to three numbers: what the platform takes from you, what it adds for the buyer, and the price where authentication starts. Vinted charges sellers no commission. eBay.co.uk is free for UK-based private sellers, while business sellers on eBay UK and eBay.de pay 7% on trainers from £100 or €100. GOAT charges 9.5% plus a seller fee, and outside the US only select sellers can use it.

Below: each platform on those numbers, a worked fee example on a pair selling for 150, and a rule for each kind of pair. Platform facts were checked on 13 September 2026. New to reselling? Start with the reselling guide for Europe.

Used vs deadstock: different buyers

Worn and deadstock pairs of the same model sell to different buyers:

  • Worn pairs: buyers judge photos of soles and insoles, the exact size and the stated condition, and compare you with other worn pairs. Setting that price is covered in how to price used sneakers.
  • Deadstock pairs: buyers compare you with new prices and want proof, so authentication thresholds matter more.

Deadstock also raises an account question on Vinted. Its commercial-selling signals include "many new or tagged items" and "identical or similar items in several colours or sizes", and standard accounts are for personal use. Vinted Pro is open in eight countries, including France and the UK, but not Germany or Poland. This is general information, not legal advice: if you buy pairs to resell, ask an adviser.

Vinted: no seller fee, optional verification

Vinted's UK platform page says "Selling on Vinted is free", and the UK, German, French and Polish price lists have no seller commission. The buyer pays the Buyer Protection fee on each "Buy now" order. Its usual rate is 5% + €0.70 in Germany and France, 5% + 2.90 zł in Poland, and "3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8" in the UK. The exact amount is shown at checkout. You receive your asking price.

Item Verification covers shoes. Help page 1147 lists shoes among eligible categories for selected designer items, from £85 in the UK or 450 zł in Poland. The buyer adds it and pays £10, €10 or 45 zł. It is free for sellers. Vinted's UK help also counts a counterfeit as "significantly not as described". Bundle limits and failed checks are covered in Vinted item verification.

eBay UK and Germany: trainer fee rules and authentication

On eBay, what you pay depends on your seller type, where you live and which side of the price line the pair sits.

Seller Below the line From the line
eBay.co.uk, UK-based private no final value fee no final value fee
eBay.co.uk, business (excl. VAT) 11.9% 7% from £100 item price, excl. postage
eBay.co.uk, private, living outside the UK 12.8% + 30p 8% + 30p from £100
eBay.de, business (excl. VAT) 12% under €100 7% from €100 to €990, 3% above

UK business sellers also pay £0.30 per order up to £10 or £0.40 above, plus a 0.35% regulatory operating fee. Non-resident private sellers pay 0.42%. eBay.de business sellers pay €0.35 per order, or €0.45 over €10, on a total that includes shipping and VAT. Private sellers resident in the EEA, Poland included, sell free "within Germany", with a 5% fee on delivery outside it: see eBay.de fees and eBay UK fees.

Authenticity Guarantee applies automatically to trainers from £200 on eBay.co.uk and €200 on eBay.de. It is free to the seller, with no opt-in or opt-out. Below those lines an optional check costs £20 or €20 (paid by the buyer on eBay.de). The pair goes to an authenticator, and inspection usually takes 2 business days after arrival. A failed pair returns to you and the buyer is refunded. Local pickup, PO boxes and customised pairs are excluded. For protection and audience, see Vinted vs eBay.

GOAT and StockX for deadstock

GOAT's fee policy (updated 1 August 2026) sets:

  • Commission: 9.5% at the starting rating of 90 or more, then 15%, 20% and 25% as the rating falls. A cancellation costs 10 points, so one at 90 puts you in the 15% band. Only list pairs you hold.
  • Seller fee: Poland $6. Germany and the UK $2 at drop-off or $5 with prepaid shipping.
  • Cash-out: 2.9% for ACH or PayPal, once earnings exceed $25.
  • Access: selling from outside the US is "only available to select sellers at this time".

StockX's fee table could only be read through a proxy (medium confidence): 9% at Level 1 down to 7% at Level 5, plus 3% processing and a €5 EU minimum. Confirm it in a browser. Our sources don't cover either platform's condition rules, so check in the app whether worn pairs are accepted.

Local classifieds for pickup deals

Local deals skip shipping and authentication; eBay's programme excludes local pickup.

  • Allegro Lokalnie: only regular (private) Allegro accounts can list. Local listings have a 0 zł sale fee. Kup teraz and auctions cost 7.9%, charged only if the buyer pays within 72 hours or fills in the delivery form.
  • OLX.pl: the "Zapłać, jeśli sprzedasz" commission rate is not published in the documents read. Only one listing per item is allowed, and in free and limited categories, relisting within 14 days of ending a listing counts as a duplicate.
  • Kleinanzeigen: free for private sellers up to 100 ads in 30 days, then €1.99 each. With "Sicher bezahlen" the buyer pays €0.50 + 4.5%, and protection covers only Germany.

In a hand-to-hand sale nobody checks the pair but you and the buyer, so screen your buys with how to spot fake listings.

The same formula applies on every platform:

you keep = sale price − commission − per-order and listing fees − payout fees − shipping you pay − purchase cost

VAT on eBay business fees depends on your own VAT position, and GOAT's page doesn't say which currency you are paid in.

Frequently asked questions

Is eBay or Vinted better for selling sneakers?
It depends on your seller type and country. Vinted takes no seller commission anywhere; the buyer pays its fee. eBay.co.uk is also free for UK-based private sellers, but business sellers pay 7% on trainers from £100, and private sellers on eBay.pl pay 11% plus a fixed per-order fee. From £200 or €200, eBay authenticates pairs automatically, which Vinted does only if the buyer pays for it.
Does eBay authenticate sneakers in the UK?
Yes. Trainers selling for £200 or more on eBay.co.uk go through Authenticity Guarantee automatically, free to the seller, with no opt-out. Below £200 an optional check costs £20. If a pair fails, the buyer is refunded and the pair returns to you. Local pickup, PO boxes and customised items are excluded.
Can I sell on GOAT from Poland?
Not by default. GOAT's fee policy (updated 1 August 2026) says selling from outside the US is "only available to select sellers at this time" and does not publish who qualifies. If you are accepted, Poland's seller fee is $6, on top of a 9.5% commission at the starting rating and a 2.9% cash-out fee for ACH or PayPal.
What fee does eBay charge on trainers over £100?
Business sellers on eBay.co.uk pay 7% once the item price, excluding postage, reaches £100, plus a £0.40 per-order fee and a 0.35% regulatory operating fee, all excluding VAT. Private sellers living outside the UK pay 8% + 30p and 0.42%. UK-based private sellers pay no final value fee. eBay.de business sellers pay 7% on sneakers from €100.
